  3. Doing my first commute tomorrow for the entire year. Compares nothing close to the commuters here on this thread. Learn from the thread to get my stuff ready before morning, which I did. I am talking about school commuting haha, only 1.4km away (so 2.8km in total), but I am just happy I can use my bike to go to school (puts me in a better mood). And when I had a hard day, I can pedal it out going back home. http://i.imgur.com/TCdjajb.jpg

  6. That's an awesome gift! I watch BKXC videos and he loves his. He uses it everytime.
  7. Started the day with a very nice ride! Was up at 5 am, but was 5 mins late for my fellow rider... Won't happen next time. We began at Majik going through to Bloemendal, Hillcrest, and wanted to do Contermanskloof, but the wind was quite hectic, so went down Bloemendaler. Awesome ride and stopped for a coffee. My foon se kop het uitgehak (sorry for the Afrikaans, I just feel it describes it better) resulting in my loss of my Strava progress. Lucky my fellow rider had his Polar on and I did 36km (while he had to drive home still). The new Maxxis Ikon's ride like a dream! Just had a bad luck with a branch stuck in my front tyre which almost ripped my sidewall (thank goodness for the 3C version). There was one problem though... The climbs (not all of them). I suffered badly with my 1x10. Chainring 34T and 11-36 cassette. Eish, did not work at all. Really need to fix this ASAP, as it was my first time riding that section of the track. I am fine with Bloemendal, but now I know I do not have enough gears. Disclaimer: I sadly do not have any pics.

  13. Hey guys, Today I went to pick up my bike from This Way Out and I was amazed how many cyclist I saw without helmets. Yeah, they are not in Tygerberg MTB Club or any other, but still... It is like riding a car without a safety belt. This one oke was driving on Fairtrees Rd (16:15) with medium traffic without a helmet. Best of all, he was driving an XTC Advanced 29er 2 LTD. Surely he can afford a helmet. There is also a dirt path which he could have followed instead of being on the road with cars flying by. I do not want to rant, but I am pretty stretch about wearing a helmet and will always be. No matter what the scenario. Heck, I even wear my helmet when visiting my friend in a residential area about 1km away. No Helmet No Ride

  21. Ja-nee. Dis vrieslik mooi hierso! Die weer is ook fantasties. My pa se ouers woon in Perlemoenbaai so toe bly ons vir 2 dae oor en kuier lekker. Het vanoggend na my ou vriende gery wat ek jare laas gesien het. Ongelukkig is hulle nou nie fietsfiks nie, maar nogtans was dit 'n lekker trap. 23. Coastal Bike N Hike Googled last night to get to know the area. 'Coffee On The Rocks' only opens at 10am, so that did not happen. But the views... Wow! So beautiful. Walked more with my bike than rode it, but the breathtaking views made up for it. Ended the ride at a calm beach. Went to get some sea water in my face. Definitely going take a dip later! Now heading to Pearly Beach (bike will unfortunately not come with)." Sent from Pure Android
  24. Another Road Trip - Gansbaai Yes, that is a bike in there. Bike cleaning time. Need it clean and running for tomorrow's ride. Destination will be 'Coffee On The Rocks'." Sent from Pure Android
