  1. *Very* nice! I've never seen my back yard in this light. I felt bad closing off my street in 2015 as the guys would always shuttle up there. @Peach. if you guys need the gate in the cement palisade opened next time, let me know... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I've avoided the typical colds and flu but have been suffering with something far more sinister: neck and spine "issues". Started off with 3 weeks worth of migraines. First week just the migraines but the second week it was clearly my neck. This is one bastard of a muscle spasm if that's all it is. I've had the whole gamut of tests done and no indications of an issue. So it's just been physio. First physio wasn't helping but the second physio is amazing. Right now it's my third day without pain meds/anti-inflammatories/muscle relaxants and no headaches. I've avoided any cycling whatsoever but may get back on the horse this weekend... Luckily that USN training program I won is on ice until Waylon's schedule frees up; else it might have gone to waste. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Just to add another option to the list, Giant has a really well built 12" balance bike. I posted photos of mine here. The cost is double that of the Avalanche Munky but the quality alone sold me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. What a beauty. I'll trade my steed for that tomorrow. I really need to stop looking at new bikes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. @PhilipV I love the colour scheme of that Trance! Saw one in person the weekend and it made my heart skip a beat. Right next to it was a Trance with Avid brakes. Then I had to leave because I have a newish bike already! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. At the shop: Garden trails: It has begun. 2016 Giant Pre 12". 15 More years training and then we do the Cape Epic together. Should be enough time to save for the (insane) entry fee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I normally do this route which is a 25km loop of sorts with 450m elevation up and 483m elevation down. I always park outside The Trailhead and try make it back for coffee. There are some awesome sections William Nicol way but I am wary of that side...
  8. Thanks for these great articles, Bike Hub. I'm truly glad I found this forum while taking up cycling again.
  9. Enjoyed the race today immensely. I will definitely recommend the venue. The start was a bit "quiet" - in my opinion they should use a loudspeaker. Lots of water points. At the finish there was ice cold bottled water and frozen fruit juice...awesome. A 35km lap yielded 571m elevation up and 329m down. Some nice little spruit crossings and one or two technical climb sections. Lots of fast jeep track but really rocky - gives your shocks a serious workout. Also lots of river sand that was like riding through oil. That sucked somewhat. The race was well supported by locals selling food, race stuff, kiddies jumping castle, etc. I will be going back for sure!
  10. Bad link there @Katman.
  11. What a moving video. Sad indeed. RIP McGazza the Legend.
  12. Fantastic image-story. Enjoy these immensely. Out of interest, which one is @Peach?
  13. #initforthebeans #makeothersocksjelly #jellymuch #madaboutbeans #braapbeans #beansquad #beanaroundtheworld #beandownthehill #notcoffeebeans #beanswitched #wherehaveyoubean Fun competition, thanks The Hub and V Crew. Edit: oops, @bertusras beat me with #jellymuch
  14. Definitely needs to replace his current profile photo.
  15. That's a great photo!
  16. @s14phoenix Since you've been playing the upgrade game, what Race Face bars and stem should I be looking at for my Anthem?
  17. I must say that comparing the Versus socks to other high quality cycling socks shows the Versus socks to be particularly good. I bought some Fox socks with extensive mention of technology and this and that. The biggest XL size is like fitting on a size 4-7 sock, maybe smaller. No elasticity. I wanted the orange colour and luckily the price was not steep.
  18. I forgot the new gloves on my last ride, ate dirt after a jump went awry and now I'm (still) picking gravel from my palms. Disclaimer: I own lots of Versus socks but they don't do them in orange yet.
  19. My new stealth bomber. So sleek...
  20. In.
  21. At the bottom of the Helderkuin DH course. And no, I did not bomb down on my Anthem. No place to prop the bike up for a pose.
  22. R79.99 for regular and R89.99 for funky - the old price. It looks like the price *just* went up to R90 for regular and R110 for funky... /quietly sneaks off to buy more of them vsocks at the old price...
  23. Hey, maybe you have a 2016 Giant Reign 27.5 2 and want to be perfectly colour coded....
  24. Since the online store is still out of stock at the time of this post, Cycle Lab Fourways has 10-20 pairs for anyone on a mission. I got my first pair on Saturday.
