  1. I have no basis to infer she has cash flow issues, but how do you go from R100k to R750K. She must have been really upset with CL's refusal to "donate" to a charity to have such a go at them. Maybe CL knew this was coming, is that why they are so expensive?
  2. Is it seriously from 2007? Three years old...I know the legal process takes time, but why has it only been exposed now? Cash flow problems?
  3. I don't think we, the general public will ever know what negotiations have taken place behind closed doors. There may well have been offers to reconcile financially and apologies offered...end of the day the money she is asking for in compensation is pathetic. If she is so concerned about her public image, she could have handled this episode better. Her concern is that she looked unflattering, more than the fact that the image was used. I agree that celebs have to work at and survive on thier image...but this is more suited to the USA than RSA.
  4. Locknville-6 Seconds of Poison
  5. On weight, what is the difference in weight between a medium and large frame? Surely the large has more material in it...
  6. Ok before you start to defend LA, I am not having a go at him...Not having any insight into the pro riding ranks, is it not very hard to live and train with someone and not know if they are involved in something illegal. Or as everyone outside of the ranks thinks, that it is so widely used that it has become so accepted. I can't believe that Radioshack would allow it to happen and live with the negative press, so early into its involvement.
  7. If you get seat covers you won't see the porno design, sure to help with resale.
  8. Possibly Dangle, I live in Durbs by the sea!
  9. Another post on some nice kit thats ended up all personal. Yes the fact that WW got some great wheels( so I am told, to me they could be from Makro!) and saved a few bucks is not right, but be honest we all have done it. More concerning is the amount of aggression. Slow down, remember the minute you log onto the Hub it's supposed to be to catch up with some "friends" and read some posts about the sport you love, not attack one another.
  10. Ride more hills and add some running to your programme. I have found when I can run as well as riding in training, I am much strionger up hill.
  11. I'm off to get a horse drawn carriage....zero fatalities. And a new forum..." The Hoof"
  12. He is a shocker. What scares me is that even with the ANC's gagging order on him and his struggle song...he still sung it yesterday. I have not heard JZ disciplining him, or the party reacting at all. I wonder what Nelson Mandela thinks of the behaviour being shown by the leading party?
  13. I am not sure Ziegies wife would have asked him to post if she had done wrong. From what we have been told here, no-one can post anything meaningful, unless they were actually involved. It highlights for me a few issues, but the one that got my back up is that the cyclists here assume that the driver was wrong, irresponsible, on the phone, not concentrating, distracted.I also hate hearing of the injuries and fatalities of cyclists, but even as a cyclist have to say a lot of cyclists are arrogant and even with the knowledge that the road is dangerous still ride irresponsibly. You can all shout me down, but you know its the truth. Most non cycling road users have little respect for cyclists because they don't conduct themselves a manner that warrants respect. Guys we do not have the right of the road. The Road Traffic act has also been thrown around, but you must remember that that includes cyclists and running red robots and stop streets which is almost common place with cyling on the road. Horrible incedent, most probably more to the story. No one was injured and hopefully both parties can learn from it.
  14. Step 1- Name one one of your products in sms to .... Step 2-Win a bike valued at R 25000.00
  15. Chuck Norris?
  16. Does anyone practice/ train pushing their bike up hills. A bit like paddlers running carrying their canoes. It makes sense as you see even the pros pushing from time to time, so surely the middle to back markers must push even more. Even if the training does not make you do it any faster, it would mean that when you had to push your bike, it would be more comfortable and less stress on your legs.
  17. Cranck, where ar you based. I am in the plastics game, based in KZN but may be able to point you the right direction.
  18. Pornstar, nice thing you are doing. Its too easy to throw stuff away and not think of others.
  19. Eldron, agree with you the Burry thing...can you believe how many MTBers were at the front of yesterdays stage! Clearly the training off road is working well...maybe some of the roadies will relook their approach...but hey that is for another debate!
  20. Gobbo can raise any issues he likes here, as he has said the kid paid for the ticket to be at the dinner. I am not sure if there was an announcement that no photos or signatures would be allowed, but if he was paying his way and contributing to the foundation then I agree with Gobbo, he should have allowed the photo. The Livestrong foundation is a great organisation that has generated millions to cancer research and does great work...it also donates funds to disaster areas such as Haiti, but it also biulds the ego and supports a lifestyle.
  21. Besides 20mm what is the difference between shocks of 80mm and 100mm. Is there a cost saving for the 20mm?
  22. The people I have sent to the Hub for a look, have found that it is a bit of a boys club, where the old members share inside jokes and abuse the brands they don't like. When you look at the number of people online( both guests and members) compared to the number of cyclists in SA and abroad that could log on...the numbers are not great. Is the language of the Hub, the boys club attitude or the lack of info sharing the reason? I enjoy the Hub and the have gained plenty of info, but maybe the owners should look at the make up and content, and if they want to grow it make the necessary changes. Just posting my thoughts...
  23. Agreed, but as a parent you try to reduce the amount of exposure to things foul. Its the same as having parental control on the TV.
  24. The issue for me is that the Hub is potentially the place a youngster could come and get advise and info on cycling. If the language is fowl, the youngsters parents will not want/allow him or her to visit the site. If someone gets so irate they have to swear, maybe that should be PM'd.
