  2. The tyre and all the tubes we replaced and dished out were donated by Mohammed and his boys Bobby and Junior from Cycle Centre in Louis Trichardt. You can maybe give him a call at 015 516 4121 to thank him personally. Glad you could finish the race. Hope to see you again next year.
  3. Thanks Mr. D. Well done to you to. 21 Minutes improvement on last years time in the wind, not to shabby. Will do some MTB riding with the wife this weekend.
  4. Thanks to Ivan (lucky to get his name in the Wimpy on Sunday morning) for brining me a tube from who knows where after I blew two in a hundred meters on stage 3. Got in as the tandems started stage 4 so i could not get my time registered. Anyway, just joined my starting group and finished without any further incidents. Great race. (Still a bit dof today.)
  5. Packed and ready to go. Just hope the cold front will hold up for another day. Sunday is definitely going to be cold. See you there.
  6. Kruiwa, do you know if cyclists will be allowed to put a folding chair on the tog bag van? I think that I will be in need of a decent place to sit between stages.
  7. Somebody must know!
  8. Did the 70km three times. This will be my first stage race. Can't wait. See you there!
  9. What’s up for December 2011?
  10. I am lucky I don’t have to make the big decision. I am 1,7m short. A 29er will just be too clumsy … or am I wrong?
  11. Thanks a lot for the advice so far. The experimenting with the release tension will now begin.
  12. I have Shimano PDM 540 pedals on my MTB. The problem is it feel if there is to much play and I do not get my foot out quickly if I need to. I do not feel comfortable on tricky slow sections at all and on a steep incline with loose gravel or stones I am down as soon as my rear tire have the slightest spin. Any advice will be appreciated.
  13. If you can, take both. I see they have a MTB trail but I don’t know anybody who did it. There are excellent MTB trails in the Magoebaskloof area about 100km from Eiland. Tzaneen Cycling also have a club ride every Saturday morning starting at 06h00 in Tzaneen (and sometimes at Eiland). PM me should you need more detail and I can keep you informed.
  14. It shows in your avatar.
  15. My wife is conditioned. I played golf for 23 years before started cycling. No problems.
  16. I tried both. In normal conditions I prefer White Lightning because it is cleaner but it looks like Squirt performs better in wet conditions. I must ad that I am no expert. Hoekom vra jy? Oorweeg jy dit dalk om 'n MTB aan te skaf? Laas jaar op die Magoebaskloof MTB Challenge het ek 'n tandem MTB gesien. Laat jou nogal dink.......
  17. Any Hubbers out there that had any success with suspension seat posts?
  18. What is the weight?
  19. I think fellow hubber Marius had a bad experience with OKO, but I don't have the details. Never tried it myself.
  20. It does work. I would rather use Stans sealant and a compressor to inflate. Do a search, enter "tubeless" and you can get all the info you need to do the convertion. I did and it worked, I also used the rimstrips from Stans and not the BMX tube. The method in your post is called a "Ghetto tubeless convertion"
  21. You can also look at the Bulls Copperhead 2 at around R12,000.00. www.bulls.de. I know baie-sukkel advertised some of these bikes.
  22. This might be a stupid question. Why cant you leave the tube on and put the sealant in the tube?
  23. where is the link? In the post from Mountain Lion
