  3. My first Argus. It was well organized for such a huge event.Excellent crowd support at suikerbossie and everywhere along the road.Very scenic road.Alot of work has gone into this.I have seen a lot of smaller races where there was total havoc. It was good and clean and cyclists well behave.Things like this makes one come back the following year.Well done to all the organizers.Good spirit everywhere.was in the M group.See again next year.
  4. The Willie group, which day of the week?Is it always the same departure point? In Van riebeecks hof/

  9. I weigh 97 kg and 6.1 foot.Yes,we have much more weight to carry uphill, but when I started,I started training hills. When I look back 7 months ago and compare with were I am now,I see a huge difference for the best.Let the smaller guys and girls go past me,I am progressing. My weight has become my training partner.I am getting stronger and stronger and slowly getting faster and better.I am making my weak point my strong point. In a years time when I have lost say 9kg or so ,just think how strong I will be.I allready see progress.Another thing, get your mindset right.
  10. Must say,Cycle Maintenance Centre(Jaco and Leon) in Plattekloof Cape Town, gives excellent service.I had no come backs and turnaround time excellent. That is my personal experience.I cannot vouch for other hubbers. shimano 1052010-02-05 15:24:07
  11. Have 1 hardtail and two dual suspension bikes.Fitted with maxxis tyres and Stans sealant ,and no problems whatsoever.Must be something else, maybe inflated with bombs and that causes a chemical reaction?Just guessing.....
  12. Go to N1 off ramp, and chase a couple of cars each afternoon, and for speed work,go to Langa at say 19hoo and take a ride through.Works well.this is only a crash course.

  20. Because of His goodness, longsuffering (with us) His love, that is why we (you) are still on earth,so that one day you cannot say that you did not know, when you appear before His throne. There will then be no excuse, for you to say,I did not know. Therefore, know Him in all your ways, only if it is to say, thank you Lord that I have the priveledge to ride my bike this morning.Give Him the honour for your ability. It is all by His grace and mercy, not your own.Shalom
  21. Going to do the shorter route 2010 and longer one 2011
  22. Was riding at Majik Forest and had problems with my bike's front valve,it was stuck so I could not deflate it and busy going downhill with hard front tyre and had severe problems with the rear derailer and changing gears. The result was that I had a plunge, not hurt, when a rider was coming uphill and stopped and helped me.He got off his bike, ask me to hold his bike, while he reset the gears, adjust the derailer, check out the front shock, took my bike for a spin and brought it back, and everything was sorted out.I never ask his name, but he have a black scott carbon mtb with dt swiss carbon shocks, integrated seatpost,.I think it is a Scott Genuis, bike weighs about 8 kg.Was dressed in black.I could not believe that one still get people that really goes out of their way to help others.I learned something from him that day.
  23. I sometimes wonder if the hub is a safe place
