  1. How much are you asking for it? Perhaps asking too much?
  2. apologies slowbee...have deleted the post.
  3. notice how he mentions how a crash breaking the collarbone can ruin chances... great production-looking forward to the final production
  4. Phillip Eats Heere!! Indeed I will be making my mark. The way I see it- one doesn't have the right to complain without having voted We have a good chance of winning in our municipal area
  5. Mary and Mike are truly a great advertisement for South Africa South Africans are a really friendly bunch with much to offer, particularly in adventure tourism... Hopefully we are able to encourage many more of the foreign athletes at next years MTB World Cup to spend more time in our wonderful country, and encourage them to come and train during the States and Europes winter. We have much to offer but sometimes think we underestimate or downplay what we do have
  6. Really thought things did not look right so went and measured my road bike. According to the sticker it is a size 54cm but my measurements show that it is in fact about a 56cm. So yep, think I should be on a 56cm...
  7. I'm also in the same scenario. Also about 1.82 and on a 19" MTB and a 54cm road bike. The setup on the road bike is just fine as far as reach goes and saddle height is just fine. Am worried if I get a 56cm my reach will need to be compensated for by reducing stem length...which may affect handling. What are the other areas to consider? Is it okay to be on a slightly smaller frame? What about TT bikes?
  8. Yep, agreed. It seems that the organizers are very quick to grab the cash but do not consider the participants and the costs of doing these events (Don't only mean the costs of the entry but travel etc.) With a recent road ride in Durban one could not collect ones race number (a piece of paper for goodness sake!!) on the morning of the race but had to travel all the way to Gateway in Umhlanga to get it. Luckily for me a kind hubber offered to collect my number, which saved me a 230km return trip, never mind the 200km return trip I did on the day of the race. Jislaaik but 1 litre petrol is almost as much as 2 L Coke... Is there not a simpler way of getting this race number, such as email or post? Do the organizers think that everyone that does an event lives within minutes of the start/registration? We live in a world of amazing technology, why do we not use it? As far as "goody" bags go what is wrong with collecting them after the race if not collected at "registration". Tour Durban ended up being very nice with full road closure and a lekker route, with organization I saw being very good. However I feel organizers should really consider those doing the events and make a plan stan... at the end of the day they are there to provide a service to the participants.
  9. Which distributor is that?
  10. Is one not able to obtain the physical address of these people, so that a few guys can pay them a little "visit?
  11. so things not getting off to a good start then...not good!
  12. Apologies for any assumptions here, just looked awfully like a chop shop to me. The only way we are going to solve this issue is to be inquisitive though, dont you think?
  13. Where did they get all those parts from?? Another rather interesting add I found on Gumtree advertising a Scott Spark 15. Gumtree Scott Spark link The item description is as follows: This bicycle has hardly any scratches. Gear change is perfect. Frame is Carbon Fibre and a Large size. Tubeless tires. We purchased this item for R45000. Its only 1 year old Price is slightly negotiable. GREAT DEAL for what you get Does this not seem an odd way to describe such a high end bike? No description of components, wheels etc. Just seems strange...
  14. That is absolutely useless!!! How many people will be forgetting their timing chips at home etc. and if others have kindly offered to collect race numbers for those from far away, as Sepia has done for me, how are they meant to get the timing chip??? I have once before forgotten my timing chip at a Mr Price timed event on day before race registration, and was told to simply scan the chip on the morning of the race...I think many will be in the same situation with this event.
  15. Check this add out on Gumtree re bicycle parts for sale. Seems to be quite a collection... Gumtree link
  16. Does anyone know the name of the manufacturers of the unbranded Dogmas? Keen to check them out- what is the website?
  17. any feedback from someone who has purchased one of these unbranded carbon frames recently?? where is a good place to buy them? interested in a road and mtb frame...
  18. Hey I took that pic That is Andri Frischknecht, Junior mens winner and the son of Thomas-multiple winner of many races! previous World Champ and Olympic medallist!! Nice wheels his son gets!
  19. @sepia have sent you a PM. It is possible for others to collect numbers...all that is needed is a letter with ID number to confirm this.
  20. sorry to hear. Did you use a removal company??
  21. Hi sepia Have just sent the organizer an email to find out if this is possible...will get back to you as soon as I get a reply. I'm sure there are others who require the same. thanks
  22. nobody going to registration who could possibly fetch my race number?
  23. hey tarmac-SL3...how much are you looking for?
  24. Are there any hubbers going to the registration who could possibly collect my number and I'll grab it from you on the morning of the race?? It would save me a rtn trip from Howick...
  25. Couldn't agree more!! For me it is a return trip all the way from Howick on both Saturday and then again on race day, what a waste of money...just to collect a piece of paper. I did email the organiser and was told that one can't pick up number on the morning of the race It is a simple process to pick up the number. Question: Are there any hubbers going to the registration who could possibly collect my number and I'll grab it from you on the morning of the race?? It would save me a rtn trip from Howick...
