  1. Not sure how difficult it will be...Need a vehicle with a trailer and a few nights accommodation at a BnB by the looks of things. one would leave Gauteng on the Wednesday and have four days of riding and the Amashova on the 5th day?? If anyone has done something like this, what are the most common routes/distances and stopover points? Does Mtn not do a trip like this? I do recall Standard bank does a similar ride for charity.
  2. No worries! That guy is classic...love his chirps and noises during his videos.

  9. Incorrect. He was in fact not lapped but pulled off because of the 80% rule. A number of the other riders were pulled off because of this rule and were in fact not actually passed by the leaders. Basically the riders pulled off at the 80% area (just before the finish straight) were more than 80% outside of the leaders lap time eg. On a 15 min lap more than 12 min behind the leader. The point at which the rider is pulled off is shown by the - lap number. In Phil's case he was coming in to complete his 5th lap whereas Niño was a large portion of his way through the 6th lap. Correct me if I am wrong.
  10. Good luck to all those taking part!! Would also like to offer my services to anyone needing help in the feed/technical zone to hand out bottles etc. Pop me a message if you or anybody else you know needs help.
  11. Perhaps also look at staying at Midmar Dam-either in the chalets or camping. About 6km from Howick town, on the Midlands Meander, and about 25 km from Cascades. I will be doing some riding in the area if anyone would be keen to ride some of the Howick trails...
  12. Does anybody have extra items they need taken down to PMB for the Masters/Elite World Champs? Perhaps you will be flying down to KZN and have limited allowance for luggage etc. I will be up in Jhb next week (Monday 12 Aug to Friday 16 Aug) and can possibly bring your additional items down with me and then bring them down to Cascades when you follow at a later stage. Just thought I could help out in some way as I will be traveling alone and have space...
  13. Ahh yes...brings us back to that Olympic race where caster... lost by a ball hair!!
  14. maybe ask at your doctors/clinic side for them to give it a clean and then dress it or see what they recommend.
  15. perhaps use Jelonet (Paraffin gauze dressing)with some bandage wrapped around it at night. helps to prevent that 'sticking' to the sheets etc. and lets the wound to drain straight through onto the bandage. Try the pharmacy or perhaps Dischem for Jelonet or something similar.
  16. AND Insurance.bunch of crooks!! All the cellphone companies have to do (and I am sure they are doing) is charge a few extra cents here and there per subscriber and they make millions
  17. The matter was resolved at the time (managers meeting) with it being made very clear that NO formal protest was being lodged... Let us not base comments on hearsay and a dead horse being flogged by the media.
  18. video from Epic 2011. Met those guys this year and the one who crashed out of the race last year (in this video) finished this year but his partner (the rider filming) had to pull out this year...that must really suck
  19. What about going riding around midday when it is warm?
  20. not sure but just showing how the best team at the PMB WC did...not so good this time, besides for Burry of course got to show some support for the team that has done a lot to put South African cycling on the map of late.
  21. Good riding by the Cannondale guys, Fontana and Fumic.
  22. looks like one of those where you drop your bottle and try to grab it while still going
  23. Burry had a little off just a bit before the finishing straight but still saved 4th ...that could have been a bit sad.
  24. thanks Heman
