    Or people are buying down. Until now W2W always sold out both weekends immediately then a month or two to sell out the midweek event. This year entries opened on 14 Feb and it looks like they only sold out the first weekend today. Not quite comparable I know, but DC offers decent value and great motivation/camaraderie if you are doing it with a club. I love the team format.

    My HR remains spot on in all weather, even when I get on the bike after wearing the strap on a freezing ocean swim. Elevation on the Edge series is heavily affected by getting wet... the barometer does not like getting wet, it starts to underreport. My 520, 820 and 830 all do the same if it rains. The Fenix seems to be better, so I record with that on rainy rides. Cold hasn't affected it though.

    The realism setting compensates for this. Keep it at 50% and you should never spin out nor run out of gears on a climb. You end up using your 4/5 middle gears only

    I had the same negative experience in 2019. However it used to be an amazing race and with the much longer runway (plus a sponsor secured) I believe they are trying to revive it properly for 2020. I've also taken a discounted entry for next year, backing them to do a better job.
