boo hoo fricken hoo..... so, she had a bad day on the bike.. i'v had hundreds....... she rode with the wrong group by mistake.. she is forgiven... the only problem with the situation was that the following car drove past her, they should have picked her up....

No-one is dissing the "sport of cycling" here,, they dissing the club,, so the club is being made responsible...

what we do is... put the hammer down, flat out, straight away, and the group is soon sorted into A,B,C,D......E............F pretty quickly!!!! No.. joking... but i do think new comers to a group should introduce themselves and talk at the start... what often happens is they arrive, dont say anything, and join the ride!! and now the club are responsible for them??!!!

ya.. i'v had that... spray some WD40 or Q20 where the rod goes through that rubber gromit at the lever.... muck builds up there.. try brush it away with a small paint brush and more WD40.

i'v got a complex about it!! i dont bring up cycling at braai's etc. and if asked "are you still riding" i just say "i'm ticking over"!!! i try not engage in cycling conversation.... odds are you will get a remark about "some cyclists the other morning were hogging the road" or even worse " i'v just started cycling, can i join you on tomorrow mornings ride"???

i'm just concerned thet there were no ambulances at finish... there normally are, even at small races.

my ford ranger has done 100000km's and never chnged breakpad,, same went for my colt.... think subaru drivers aretrying to prove a point to BMW drivers!!! WRC probably change breakpads every race,,, its how you drive!!

re-greased and assembled, and still creaking

crank creaking on left side when out of saddle climbing... i have taken crank arms off, cleaned, regreased. didnt take bearing cups out, but greased them... when i put back together it creaks the same.. is my BB at the end of its life, its done +- 12000 km but never in the rain??? It's not skewers, are peddle bearings, i did check that aswell!!!

guys make alot of noise about FOX forks.. i personally have never owner one, but i see them in for repair at LBS quite offten.... problems with remote lockout seem common??? i have rockshox, and never had a problem, and dont see problem ones lying around the shop?? is this FOX thing not all hype?? i had a Rockshox Duke SL that i beat up for years, and it never had to be touched once, i'v now got a Recon which feels similar??

hmmm.. so carbon is the thing now??.... swiss used to call it quartz crystal!!!

local shops are quoting me R2700 - R2900 for an XT crankset.. CRC = R 1450 + 220 postage + vat = about R1900... R1000 bucks cheaper?? what price can you do Icycling??

carbon is just cool... like dura ace!!! some people are happy to ride 105!!! it doesnt make any of us much faster to be on carbon or dura-ace... i'm an in engineering, and obsesed with well engineered things,, hence i ride carbon bikes, with the best components i can afford!! its all fettish, and marketing hype..
