  1. i sell a Loctite product called "Loctite 8040 freeze and release". its a light release lubricant, that is ice cold. you spray it on the inner metal section, which contracts, and makes releasing a bit easier. Perhaps it would help Johans tool with seriously tight threads in there?
  2. On a road it woundnt make a difference if a road bike had 26 inch wheels.... if bigger wheel rolled faster, formula 1 cars wouldnt have such small ones!!
  3. i had to forefit my entry this year, cause my son was born over those dates!!!! will probably only get a re-entry when the lighty is about 16.... then i can do it with him!!!
  4. If you wanna buy knock off stuff, go to cycling-jersey.net. It cheap and the quality of the shirts is good... dont know about the bibs, thats one area i dont compromise!!
  5. shimano,, cleats last for ages, even with lots of walking in.. rock solid.
  6. I'll check out the thread... agree with you on terain, KZN races always have some steep climbing? also probably comes down to rides strength, and weight. a heavy weight might stuggle with a 30 and only 11-32 at the back. Hope it suits my 75kg's
  7. i wanted a 29, but couldnt find one? the rings i have bought are "Specialities", its a french company. Not bloody cheap!! @#$Ken setup cost R1700

  11. i rekon there was confusion, or something... maybe they had XTR price tag on it by mistake?? i find it hard to believe they think they can rip owes that bad??
  12. Cant you read?? Not "Sani 2011".... is says "Volcan XC29"... theres a difference!!!
  13. i would "batty" both.... In the "willows"...
  14. I'v got a problem with Shiamno..... I bought a full Dura Ace 7900 equiped bike in December. Paid top SA Rands at LBS. The STI caps within 2 months corroded and bubbled. I did a internet search, and found that Shimano internationally had picked up a few problems with this, and would simply swop them out. Well i sent my caps back to Shimano SA, throught my LBS 3 months back. And nothing has been done? on monday i was told another 6 weeks?? all this time i'v been riding without caps on the shifters (a sharp exposed edge has ever cut holes in my winter gloves!!). These things are so small that for a few rands could be posted ex. overseas..... if Shimano SA were even iterested in looking after me? I always support local agents, and even pay higher prices (we all know shimano is available cheaper online), but seriously disappointed!!!!
  15. i got a 705 last week and loving it.... havent encounted any hickups yet.. like anything, you learn as you go, but its been preety straight forward so far. using it on road and mtb, with 2 different cadence/speed sensors. Also "Garmin connect" is awesome..
  16. All will be settled on the Tourmalet and Aubisque a little later today.... I'm ducking work, and heading for the couch..... F#$%,, I wish i had HD!!
  17. i agree with TNT1 and fandacious.... there and then, in the moment, there was nothing else AC could do... he had to keep going... Menchov and sancchez sure as hell wernt waiting!!!!
  18. I received a shirt i ordered.... it took about 2 - 3 weeks. Quaulity is surpisingly really good. YKK zip. The fit is quite snugg.. i wear a medium in Anatomic and velotex, and the fit of this one is a little smaller then the local ones. I was never charged any duties at the post office, there was nothing on the parcel that revealed the contents. it was shipped from china.. these are knock-off for sure, but good quality ones!!!
  19. i agree... like i said earlier.. puncture yes, brake a chain yes, but drop the chain when attacking??? strangely he didn't seem to be shifting when it happened.. hard to tell... Damn SRAM!!!
  20. ITs a chance you take on SRAM... Relax.. dickwad... i'm just winding you up...
  21. punture yes, if the chain snapped yes,,, but dropping the chain while attacking no... i'm rooting for andy, but i dont think AC did anything wrong!! LA would have waited though..
  22. Thats not how it happened... i dont blame AC.. andy attacked AC and then his SRAM let him down... Andy got into team bus and said to the manager.." whats this SRAM sh%$, WTF... i want my Shimano back"!!
  23. American classic are happy medium
  24. Shooo... you really are in the wars... first you crash..,, then you had an alergic reation to something you ate!!! you all swollen up!!!!
  25. I'm considering getting a Garmin 705, and was wondering about the pro's and con's? any user feedback would be appreciated. Things like:- How it holds up to rough MTB / how secure the mount is / battery life / user friendlyness? thanks
