  1. If you get the time, you can do a day of white water rafting from Jinja. It's brilliant, floating down the Nile, interspersed with moments of sheer terror as you approach the rapids. Think we did it with these guys: https://www.raftafrica.com/activities/grade-5-full-day-rafting/
  2. Well, if you're going to be all rational and logical about it...
  3. If I remember correctly, I used ideas from this post last time: Basically, start it hot using a dry rub until the crackling forms, then reduce the heat and keep adding a bit of liquid, cooking it low and slow. http://www.kalofagas.ca/2011/12/12/roasted-pork-shanks-with-crackling/
  4. Bugger. Looks like I missed all the fun yesterday. Anyone feel like arguing about things that don't exist today?
  5. F... Now I'm hungry.
  6. Same here! I also wanted Ross from Friends to make an appearance and pronounce it kara-té. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. Ha, on the topic of taking offence: Watched an old episode of Night Court in which the sleazy journalist gets really insulting about Bull who threw him out of the court room, not realising Bull is standing right behind him. As he turns around he sees Bull and his face goes white. In a quivering voice he says, "Ah, you know, Bull, sticks and stones..." And Bull gets the most beautiful smile I have ever seen a 6'8" man get, the kind of smile Bakkies used to get when somebody threw a punch at him in a scrum, and he slowly leans over the journalist and says: "But I don't NEED sticks and stones." 8. Donald Glover seems to appreciate irony. Unlike some... CoughKanyeCough. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. Boils down to America is obsessed with entertainment, money and violence and if you're a black man you are f...ed. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  10. Dropped this weekend and immediately broke the internet. More than 14 million views in just two days and still trending.
  11. Here you go: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/190100/porkolt-hungarian-stew-made-with-pork/
  12. We ended up making that Hungarian pork stew and it was the most delicious stew I've tasted in ages. Pork cooked so soft it falls off the bone with tomatoes and paprika, served with fresh sour cream. If I eat that every day this winter I will die fat and happy.
  13. Holy crap. Donald Glover just broke the internet. This is America.
  14. Of course, I would never suggest downloading from thepiratebay.org, as that would be illegal.
  15. Cobra Kai is freaking awesome. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  16. I usually only watch the first few episodes of Survivor before I lose interest. But it's normally quite entertaining to see them struggle to build a shelter, make fire... Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  17. Anybody watch the Survivor SA premiere? I was laughing my ass off. So many characters Leon Schuster would have a field day with.
  18. Thanks! Sounds delicious. Think I'm gonna go with the "poor man's stew" for now, though, since, well, you know
  19. Don't they require a lot of spices? I like Thai, but don't want to go and buy a whole truckload full of ingredients. I already get discouraged when I look at eastern recipes and see four different kinds of soy sauce, not to mention rice wine, rice vinegar, and twenty different spices. That's why the Hungarian looks tempting. Most of those ingredients I have, like tomatoes, paprika, bell pepper, etc.
  20. Hmmm, now this Korean version and the sweet and sour version look just as good. https://realfood.tesco.com/recipes/korean-pork-and-red-pepper-stew.html https://royco.co.za/recipe/sweet-sour-pork-casserole/
  21. Any ideas for a pork stew? My brother got some "pork potjie" meat from a butcher so we want to try to make a stew. This Hungarian stew (porkolt) seems fairly interesting. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/190100/porkolt-hungarian-stew-made-with-pork/
  22. I don't like 3d so I want to see a 2d show, but the only times in Centurion are 16:00 and 19:00. Might just have to put on my big boy pants and hope it's not another freaking disaster full of drunk students yelling and tannies on their cellphones. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  23. I want to go to an empty cinema too! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  24. Oh? Didn't know that. They seemed quite happy together. But that kind of life has to be hell on relationships. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  25. If you haven't seen it yet, this is awesome: Jenna teaching her hubby how to do the Magic Mike.
