  1. If take good care of the chain you'll geet 2000km out of it. Lube and clean before and after every ride.
  2. FORMULA, FORMULA and FORMULA. ORO's are good value, R1 superior piece of equipment
  3. I'm a MTBer....the silly roadies should just stick to the rules. I'm not scared to say that. The dude has a point' date=' surely you can see that.[/quote'] I agree with you. I think both parties are guilty in this instance. I'm also a MTBer and have seen the way road cyclist behave on all roads. So the cause of accidents is can't be solely blamed on the road users. This is a clash of attitudes. I saw a Letter in the BEELD on the 15 of January where a reader complained yet again about ROAD-cyclist behaving badly. So cyclist as a whole have only themselves to blame for the negative treatment we are getting on our roads. I think it is up to us to clean up our image and show the other road users how responsable we are.
  4. I would go with the HRM. It allows you to train better and pace yourself. I've got a Polar RS300X with Flowlink and Bike mount. Shows you everything you need to know.
  5. For starters buy a SILVERBACK. Best value for money.
  6. I want to cycle there and back?
  7. Ok thanx. Then its easy. Any other nice single track routes around Buffelspoort?
  8. I just want to know were is the entrance to go and ride Breedt's Nek. We are going camping at Buffelspoort in January and I want to take a few friends there on a ride. Where would the best place be for me to enter the route? GPS map will help a million!! Thanx!!
  9. I heard the other day at the LBS that Van Gaalens is also planning a Downhill course at there farm.
  10. Correct height: If you put your heel on the pedal, while the crank is all the way at the bottom, your leg must be straight. It can have a very tiny bent. Correct horisontal pos: If you sit on the saddle, hand on the handle bar, yopur handle bar must be on top of the hub if you look down. In other words, your hub has to be behind the handle bar and they must follow the same lines.
  11. I have a RavX floorpump, but it feels as if the gauge is not correct and I mean by a substantial margin. Is there any way to fix it??
  12. According to Christoph Sauser, we all know him, the Spec Fast Track LK is the best for what he considers "average riders." Since these tyres are tested under South African conditions, I'll rely on them for the time being. Specs Renegade if your pockets can go a bit deeper
  13. Bruce Reyneke is still one of the best places in town for me to go and buy. Not the cheapest, but plenty of stock and service with a smile.
  14. FPC: overprized and crap service.
  15. I didn't take one, so they could have just given mine to you. I'm most likely not doing this event again, or I'll be doing the 50km next year. I don't mind people standing in a que, but if there is an obstacle that is ridable, why does it need to be walked. The first river crossing I can understand, but that one went the quickest of them all. Will never do such a big MTB event with so many people. I looked down the hill at one stage and saw this endless line of people comming up it. Overall I had a good joll and some nice chats while I qued. BUT WAY TOO MUCH PEOPLE.
  16. I also drink GAME. I take a 750ml Game + 500ml water. Works like a charm for me and it isn't as sweet as Energade or Powerade. Agree with yang on the FiT products. That stuff is magic.
  17. How does the price of DT Swiss compare to Rock Shox?
  18. I currently ride with Scott Ozones and they are just brilliant. But there is no stock available. I heard the race kings are a winner and very good tyres, but I dont want to spend a R1000 on tyres each month. LBS owner told me Spesialized Fast Track UST are very nice, but also a bit heavy on the pocket. If they run just as good as the conti's i'd much rather take them
  19. How do these compare to Conti Race Kings and Specialized Fast track.
  20. I'm looking at replacing my tyres with Maxxis CrossMarks. Like to know the views of people who have used them
  21. I'm a proud resident of Pretoria North. No body here has indicators on the cars, and those who have a to dumb to use them. Got a new record this week, 3 people nearly ran over me. The other half just try and cut traffic circles, thanks to disc brakes I live to tell the tale
  22. Ek stel ook belang asb.
  23. I have the opportunity to get a polar from the US. Which one of the best for cycling. RS800 is a beast of a machine, is the extra dollars worth it.
