  1. its going to be difficult but I would like to see what the hubbers come up with. I'm new to the whole PT stuff but I think your dipping NP could be in relation to the actual route profile as well. The 1st half of the race was much harder than the second part.
  2. Its happening as we speak. I can feel it in my bones.
  3. No need for polish and yada yada......if your legs can do the talking then you will be in the MTN dream team.
  4. I will respond to your post in a few years time. Its going to go something like "I told u so !!!" . Just kidding my fellow african.
  5. Surely some of the guys in the list must have been in discussion with MTN. And with the points they hold MTN could be in the tour as early as next year (2013)..... Anycase just me dreaming :-D
  6. Now that would be something if Team MTN-Qhubeka had to sign: Chris Froome Darryl Impey Robert Hunter John-Lee Augustyn Burry Stander (we must get a MTBiker in the team to keep Sagan honest :-) Reinard Janse van Rensburg Darren Lill ........
  7. How is the testing progressing? I am keen to see the results.
  8. We have about 3 guys in 3A who regularly commute from Durbanville/Bellville area. Best route option is probably via Jip de Jager, Hendrik Verwoerd Drive, Giel Basson, Frans Conradie route. If you are on a MTB and you want some extra miles you can go off-road via Mijik Forest then Tiekie draai (Durbanville Road) then cut through Burgundy Estate onto Giel Basson. The sports club showers are for free but they only open around 8am and some mornings it is really dirty if the guys played soccer the previous evening. Squash Club membership is cheaper than gym if all you want to do is shower. There is also some bike parking space by east entrance side by revolving doors and it is still within the access controlled area of the building.
  9. His a mountain biker so in my eyes he can do NO wrong
  10. Wish I could get one in Cape Town :-(
  11. So if the test shows that my max power is 500 watts then this strap can use that to calc my power at 80% HR for instance? Does that maybe make some kinda sense. So if you then put me side by side with Robbie Hunter then at least the strap will give different readings based on HR. I don't know but just taking a stab at it :-)
  12. But then again DC Rainmaker does mention "In order for the strap to work however, you must first complete a power test." so now I am back to being confused again :-)
  13. I'm not sure I understand my own post as well....lol....I think my FTP post is a load of bull but it sounded good at the time :-D
  14. Maybe I've missed it in this topic somewhere but it is important to note that you will need to do a power test in order for this unit to be more accurate. If you know your FTP (functional threshold power) then my guess is that this unit could be accurate indeed. I already have a PT on my road bike and therefore I will adjust my FTP as my fitness increases. I recon this unit will be a useful device to use for when I go mountain biking because I do not have a PT for my MTB. Currently when I train with my PT I can always see the close correlation between HR and Power. I recon an accurate FTP is key. Can my name also be added to the ORDER list?
  15. At this weekends WP XCO race I saw 360Lifes James Reid rides without cap and the stem is straight onto the bearing :-O
  16. Hubbers, Any idea where I can get a flat headset bearing cover to drop my stem to the max? Something like http://slamthatstem.com/headset-bearing-cover Thx R

  18. I still can not get to load al my data to my laptop. I have to manually copy the files from my Edge 500 to my hard drive and then manually load each file into connect.garmin :-(
  19. I had the same problem but after re-loading my max and min HR values the problem was solved.
  20. you can buy a complete cane creek headset including sealed bearing for like R600 bucks or for half the price you can get FSA headset with sealed bearings as well. Try Olympic cycles claremont. **** customer service but they have the goods.
  21. Scarry...I also use that route and I saw you guys this morning when you were on your way back.
