Maybe include a popup dialog box saying something along the lines of "You have chosen not to attach a photo to your advert" when they submit an ad without an attached photo.
Matt Posted March 10, 2011 Author Posted March 10, 2011 I have about 15 parts for sale, Which I would have loved to put under one big "yardsale" tipe add.. as its suspension forks, road bars, casettes etc etc. I take it this not possible anymore?  I knew I should have posted it a long time ago.. We could create a new 'Garage Sale' Sub Category under Miscellaneous.  Bringing in the categories unfortunately does mean that these Garage sale type ads are at a disadvantage. Perhaps we can find a way to better accommodate them.   Â

Perhaps we can find a way to better accommodate them.  Maybe you could have check boxes... and the seller will tick what category the ad falls under. But make it so that its not exclusive. I.e. You can tick- fork, derailer, wheelset - if those are the things you want to sell, and the ad will come up in all three categories. That could maybe be extended that once one item gets sold, the seller can edit and uncheck that category, so the ad no longer apears in that section...

Personally it gives me a bit if peace of mind knowing that the advertiser has been taking part in the forums and not just here to make a quick sale and a few bucks... I realise that it is just a click away, but that loads a new page to view their profile and then you have to go back... I supose I am just lazy. Any chance of adding that detail to the classifieds?

I can't find some of the ads from before...  It's up to the advertisers to move their ads over to the new Classifieds - if they want to.  With the volume of ads in the old classifieds manual transfer (or even auto transfer with manual classification) would be no small undertaking.  The old Classifieds in the forums will remain open for comments for a little while to all any deals there to conclude. After a week or two I expect that most activity in the old classifieds would have died off and we'll be able to lock all threads. I've reduced it down to 512kb as per the forums which should help.
