Just curious, it looks light but with steel it probably wont be....

I will let you know. Now I am curious as well. It will definitely benefit from the lack of 'multi-speed parts'.

Thank you, never even considered weight. Is that a thing with steel bikes? Would be interesting to find out though.

Do those braded hoses have blood on them after cutting yourself when shortening the hoses and then having to ask someone else to finish the setup!?!?

You need to invest in a Dremel lol. Please. I promise its a tool you’ll use for everything.
cutting compressionless or braded hoses with tongs is like using hammer to set your indexing????

Yes. Like a mini angle grinder cutting disk. I do all my cable housings with it because it makes a super clean cut.

Ok. So this has come a long while.

A fellow hubber (ill mention his name if I have his permission later on) gpt chatting about single speeds.

After hearing about my desire to own my own steed he went ahead and donated me a frame and sold me some second hand parts at an extremely reasonable price. The rest of the parts I needed I bought around the hub classifieds...

Today I got the pics of the frame paintjob thats done (same hubber, this guys is a legend)...

And I am flippen crazy excited!!!

Now Ilwe just need to get the frame in Durban and I can start building!!!

Its a "gloss black under matt with a red flip" I hope im quoting correctly. There a couple of skulls as well...

That's awesome! It's so great when the cycling community comes together like that—what a generous gesture from your fellow hubber! It sounds like you’re going to have a seriously unique ride with that paint job. Gloss black with matte and red flip sounds super sleek, and the skulls definitely add a cool, personal touch.

I can imagine the excitement you're feeling right now as everything starts to come together. Getting the frame to Durban is the final piece, and then you can dive into the fun of building it up. Can't wait to hear how it turns out once you’ve got everything assembled!

Keep us updated on the build process, and enjoy the ride when it's all done!
