Did anyone riding behind, us see the guy in L group crash going down the other side of Edinborough Drive (I think, not from CT). He was in front of me and collided with the guy next to him, one foot uncleated and hit the floor. Next millisecond he was over the bars into a sickening face-plant at 70km/h! I shat myself. Was wondering/hoping he was ok?

At the risk of hi-jacking, also the pile ups on Boyes Drive, and the girl who clipped my wheel at the Chappies Peak watering hole (I'd have stopped, but at that point it might have made things worse). Hijack off!

Hope everyone's alright... I got taken out by a guy in H/J group who hit something in the middle of the road (a pothole ot cat-eye) and swerved in Misty Cliffs at 55kph... thank goodness I'm just extremely sore and nothing is broken.

Not my best day...

Sho, there were crashes everywhere, again, at the risk of a Hijack, but the guy went down on blueroute at about 45km/h and a guy went down at the turnoff by kommetjie, big noise, sickening actually..I hope all is well.

dont know what the organisers were thinking...bunches were 600/700 big...with a 3 min split between....that is a recipe for chaos

We in A bunch caught a huge VB bunch. Was chaos from that point until Chappies at least.

Yah, that was quite crazy...especially the turn-off to noordhoek, and the loads of stop starts. The guy dropping his chain at start of Chappies made me (and the 200 okes behind) almost crash...

BUT i don't think there was any crashes in A or in the extended A/VB/VA bunch?

One guy in A went down in fish hoek at about 45km/h, was freaking funny, he was in the middle of the bunch towards the front..then just started leaning on the guy next to him for about 3-5seconds and then whiped out completely. Amazingly he took nobody down with him and ended up on his feet in the middle of the bunch shouting "Im okay"! haha

i was riding 2 bikes behind the guy who went over his handle bars on the downhill into blue route... absolute jokes aside, the image of him sliding on his face at 60 km/h will haunt me forever. i count my blessings that i was lucky enough to avoid this guy some how.. I literally crapped myself.

Please if anybody knows who this poor guy is, let us know if he's okay.

besides this incident, had a few words with a development cyclist that would accelerate the crap out the pack every time they had their turn on the front ;)...

Hijack

Even in OC the development riders were getting up to mischief, racing through on the downhills making a big noise to get people out of the way, only to weave all over the road when same try to pass them again on the uphills....they eventually ran out of steam on Chappies

The dip on Boyes was crash central, with people being in the wrong gear almost stopping dead to sort it out, all over the place. I heard the sound of a crash behind me, but it would have been at around 15 km/h.

And then there was the drunk local on the first hill out of Houtbay, before Suikerbossie. He crashed a few riders at slow speed, then proceeded to heavily crash over a pole by the side of road, much to the amusement of everyone. He was not in the race, just trying to get from the shebeen to wherever
