You guys dont really want to be taking jack3d before races or higher intensity rides. Methylhexanamine is vasocontrictive and therefor will decrease bloodflow to the muscles. It has a powerful effect neurologically which gives you a mental high and that's about it. If Epic Pro contains this the company is very dodgy because they know that it is on the banned list and they promote it as a race fuel.

International supplement companies is are looking at taking it out of pre workout formula's because of its vasoconstrictive effect. They say it has no place in a pre workout formula that actually should increase bloodflow and give a muscle "pump". This being said Jack3d is the nr 1 selling pre workout formula in the world

Mixed my last bit of USN Epic Pro into my tub of 32Gi.... its rocket fuel now.

Speaking about 32Gi, I was most disgusted that I paid R270 for a tub at my LBS, and today while in Dischem, its R230.

Thanks LBS, no really, thanks.

Mixing 32GI with your epic pro makes 32GI useless for its intended use. But i guess you know this

The entire idea of using 32GI is having a low GI aproach. Mixing it with a carb drink that surely contains high GI carbs amongst others surely defies the purpose. In that case you might as well just leave out the 32GI since your wasting your money

My advice, if you are doing J2C leave the turbo out of it, just take along standard Epic Pro and a tub of Pepto Pro.

Already got the Pepto Pro so agree there, but why would you say Epic Pro over the Epic Turbo for the J2C, isn't Epic Turbo intended for endurance events ? thinking to use it about 2 hours from the finish each stage ?

Thanks for the feedback.

PS, would love to use the Epic Pro as my regular carb drink but just can't afford to, I put back about 3L of Cytomax on a 5-6 hour ride and if you work out the cost per litre the Epic is way more than the Cytomax.

Yes it is , but J2C is a multi day event not a one day endurance event.

The Epic Pro turbo gives you just that, a boost and helps you to push a little beyond your limits for a sort time span.

The energy you expend for that hour or two needs to be put back, it's quite simple , the more you put out , the more you need to put back.

At J2C you have to get back on the bike the next day and the day thereafter till you have spent at least 40 hours or so on the bike for the week.

At no time do you have to go outside of your limits (unless you are a pro)

So if I was to do the event, I would not take Epic Pro Turbo unless I am there to race.

As an aside, take warm clothes.

The epic turbo has stimulants & some fuel for your muscles, epic pro has no stimulants but PLENTY fuel.

For J2C I would use epic pro but keep a sachet of epic turbo with me for in case you really run out of steam - instead of precautionary, like epic pro.

Thanks, What is the difference in ingredients and mode of action between Epic Pro and Cytomax ? Is one much better than the other ?

Bought a tub of the Berry flavour. I normally use PVM Octane and GU Gels.

Not doing much riding lately and getting back into it, went to Groenies and did 2 laps.

Made a bottle with it (30g powder and 500ml water) and took another just h2o bottle.

Comparing Garmin data to previous rides my HR seemed lower as well as my perceived effort but slightly faster avg speed. Maybe it worked ? I'm guessing I'm just getting fit again

Taste initially is good but once swallowed there is a very nasty after taste I don't like at all.

Hard to describe, kinda like medicine or something. Stupid considering you supposed to take it after a long stage, then you dont want something foul tasting

Didnt feel a mental or physical boost or skin tingle for that matter.

Maybe I used it wrong, its just a booster so I should not take it alone but still use my normal carb drink with it ? Thought that for short under 2 hour rides you can use just the turbo on its own ?
