Did it last year - a double lapper so halfway through you'll know what you're in for on the second lap.

A bit hillier than the terrain would suggest but not too technical - mostly dirt road and footpaths - no serious drop offs or anything like that. A good race to start on I reckon.

Start near the back of the group - that way you can ride your own race and not have to worry about people pushing past yelling "TRACK!!!". Unless of course you're quite strong and just don't race much in which case start where you feel comfortable.

It's my first race on my rigid steel SS so I'm just as nervous as you! What gear to choose hmmmmm....

What a load of crap!! First i like my goodie bags(u know you like it too) but none was handed out. Then, WTF were you guys thinking putting arrow chalk markings on the ground where the front runners of the 60km have already ridden through and taken the chalk markings with them? The map to getting to the venue also sucked but Im from Centurion so I know where the place was and on que, when I was driving there I saw a few cars with mtb bike turning off into the wrong roads and being a gentleman assisted them to the correct venue. The positive was that the route itself was good and fairly easy.

Come on, do you enter races just for a goody bag? The route was nicely laid out, and even going round the second time the arrows/route markings were very visible.

Yes was a better route from last year some great single track added liked those 2 sections through the tree's :)

Mud wasn't too bad but grass in cassette was interesting rode a semi auto gearbox for quite a while :(

I enjoyed it had no problems with route marking did go wrong at start of second lap missed the gate because the tape broke cutting off the first lap route but no hassles good morning out.

Had a couple beers with Big toe and Gt racing

Saw you on your rigid Eldron but was unable to keep up for a closer look :D how did it go?

Also did it...went off track a couple of times. Seemed a bit of a price to pay for routes we ride every weekend for free but then again we are from the area. riding through all that cosmos was surreal. Also whats the point of a medal with "mountain bike club" and no date or race title on it. Rather put the money into decent timing!!!

btw...anyone found the results yet?

Ive seen worse marked routes and better marked routes, but nothing really to complain about.

A lot to praise though, nice fun route, singletrack was sublime, the second lap we when through there at pant pooping speed.

But the guyz should really use SS timing, worth the extra cash!

Fun day out!

I thought the race on Sat was pretty good. The route was well marked and even the second time round the chalk was fine... There was lot of it! Not too tough too which was good because I was taking a little strain toward the end!

I cam to the conlcusion that my tires were over inflated during the last 5 k's or so! Chalk it up to experience I guess!

Personally dont care much for a goodie bag! Esp when it comes with rubbish like Imana soy mince. Also, when you late, what do you do with it before you start. They should maybe get hold of that stuff but then donate it all on our behalves to the local community we riding in or something. Having said that, its unprofessional to advertise that there will be something and then not give it.

I thought they did a good job putting together so much quality single track, given the area we were in. Was also nice to not have some long mission before hand to get there!

I'll be going the next one... After all, I gotta try beat my time!
