Hi

Im currently riding a selle slr saddle. When I do longer rides (80km and more) my @ss hurts. This is obvous 'cause the saddle doesn't have that much padding. What saddle with the same width will give me more comfort?

Padding the saddle may not be the only answer. Consider getting some shorts with better padding.

It could also just be a lack of time in the saddle. How often do you do rides that long? I've found that my SLR kit carbon is very uncomfortable at the start of the season, but once I've done a few rides and my arse has become accustomed to it, it's like riding on a couch (in a good way). Also, as soon as I move out of my comfort zone (e.g. going from 100km rides to 150km rides) it starts hurting for a bit but then gets used to it again.

ja, that does make sense, i think im just gonna go out more and longer. usually do 80km rides every saturday and sunday, but doesn't get better.

I had a Selle Italia for a while and was getting sore spots when doing long distance. Since I got my Fizik Arione, it's been bliss - like someone said - it's the shape of the saddle - my a$$ just did not agree with the previous one.

For dirt, the Gobi is it!

What would a Fizik Aliante Gamma XM be classed as?

Lots of reviews say its the most comfortable seat for those that aint weight weenies.

Just got one here on the Hub and I'm trying to work out how to set it up.

Haven't been on any long rides yet

I have an Alliante both on road bike and MTB I used to have the saddle tilted slighty forwrd but after reading a few posts I have it spirit level- level and it is even more comfortable because there is no chance of sliding forward and so the sit bones are always in the correct position

the Alliante is also made for less supple guys there is a weight penalty as they weigh in at about 260g but you wont feel a 100g on the Alliante but you will feel 100g on an uncomfortable saddle
