bookies here have trump as overwhelming favourite as prez and Harris as overwhelming favourite for the popular vote.

Bookies always know best.

Team Harris was counting on crucial swing state North Carolina to win, and lost.  Don't know why I thought that all those ex Republican governors publicly saying they're voting for Harris, and 40/44 of Trump's most senior appointees and generals saying they're voting for Harris, and EVERY former National Security Advisor warning against Trump would hold sway with the average US voter.  Perhaps DJR knows better with that "funny lot the Americans" quip.

Would hardly be the first time I was wrong.  I think I can hear the long distant ex in-laws shouting that they'd like a word.

Bookies now have Trump at 1/55 and Harris at 16/1.

bookies were wrong on the popular vote by the looks of it. Interesting that Trump polled as much as he did thus far. Maybe America is not ready for a woman president.

a little way to go still. But looking like the Red Sea is taking over all bastions of American politics.

Horrific.  I recall Nawal Al-Maghafi's 2019 doccie in which she secretly filmed imams selling 1 hour/1 day "pleasure marriages" involving kids as young as 9 in mosques in Baghdad.  8 out of the 10 Shia clerics filmed were selling children in "pleasure marriages" from inside mosques.

Remuneration for these old legendary boxers is reportedly structured with a base $ deal, and then compensated either by the round or on a streaming viewership numbers basis. The longer the match goes the more the likes of Tyson and Mayweather earn.  It's a farce, it's not sport imo.

Still, I had hoped to read that Tyson moered that TicToc numbskull.

58 year old men have no place in a boxing ring.

Comments on Social Media:

Jake going to fight Joe Biden next

This reality: Jake Paul beats Mike Tyson, gets clowned for fighting an old man.
Alternate reality, Jake Paul loses to Mike Tyson, gets clowned for losing to an old man.

100 percent. Was thinking that during the fight. Tyson looked punch drunk and wobbly early on. Thought Jake Paul gonna look a plonker either way.

but they both made bank.

I missed the first 2 rounds as I wasn’t going to watch but got up early and just checked and it was the start of round number 3. Tyson looked shaky then already. If the rounds were 3 minutes I think he would have buckled. Bit of a farce really.

tv buffered once or twice so switched to iPad and it was perfect. Was hoping for the old man, like just one more hurrah for us oldies everywhere but alas.

Tyson making excuses here, I think.

“I almost died in June,” wrote Tyson in a post on X.

He continued, “Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.”

That's 5 months before the fight.  The reason I think it's a fake excuse is I once walked (very weakly) into hospital on a Friday evening having lost two-thirds.  Haemoglobin was measured at 4.8 as compared to the usual 14 - 17 for males.  Venofer infusion and several blood units were administered.  I was back at work the Monday morning as my colleagues were fully booked and unable to take over my 7 hours of lectures per day.  It took a few weeks to get back to decent strength, not 5 months.  I was almost 50 at the time so not much difference in age with Tyson.

That's the reasoning behind why I think he's making a flou excuse, I think it has more to do with the weed Tyson smokes throughout the day.  He's reportedly a beast at smoking weed.

Remember standing and delivering 7 hours of lecturing is far less demanding than doing 7hrs of physically demanding training. Assume he looses at least one month of decent training, and this leaves him with 4 months of training time, and a body that has deteriorated beyond where it would have been starting 5 months ago.

Then he goes and pushes hard to make up lost time, being a little older he does not recover as well and then the quality of training suffers again. And his body more so, and injuries occur.

Did you note how he struggled with his one leg and how this effected his movement.
