banna Posted April 30, 2011 Share Many Morewoods are now made in the East, although there's nothing necessarily wrong with that. Intense on the other hand, is still good ol' hand-made. All of it. Legend has it that Intense welders ply their craft to the sound of AC/DC. Hell yeah! Awesome. I'v been riding my Intense Tracer for about a year now and it's just a super ride. There's something about the VPP suspension (that Santa Cruz also has). It's difficult too explain, but you somehow feel more connected to the bike. Having said that though, there is something about a Morewood Shova's innate simplicity, with its big, box-section tubes, gnarly welds and Single Pivot glory that just takes me over the edge. Thanks! 90% of the riders @ pmb WC race for a living. The fastest bike for them is not the fastest bike for a weekend warrior. There is a place for both wheel sizes and you as mtb'er need to determine which wheel size will compliment your riding style. I ride both wheel sizes, when I am on my 26" trail bike I think 29ers are for idiots, but when I race my 29er I think, when will these 26" boys wake up. Both bikes will bring a smile to your face and quite honestly when you ride your favourite trail a bike should not influence your level of enjoyment. I climbed back on my 26" again this weekend as my normal machine was having a service done and i HATED every minute of it. And even typing HATED in capital letters does not express the true emotion i felt and a little girl came wizzing past me on the flats. I had to pedal my mielie off just to stay with her. I felt every small bump and pebble in the road. In fact i hated the small wheels so much that next time if my Proper bike is in for a service i just wont ride! Absolutely not ! everyone is entitled to the best Mtb experience possible ( this is one of the joys of this sport ). I was mealy stating that a 29er can make life better for those who struggle. Been racing Mtb's for 25 years or 20 cant even remember its been so long ( since the first mtb race held in SA i think ) also had the privilege of ride some of the very best 29ers, so i understand them . in saying that they not for me, still faster on my 26" ( they are cool though ).I will however buy one one day when im forced too ( no good 26er left ) Edited August 29, 2011 by Iron Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
