Teardrop Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 (edited) Hi, I am buying a new bike but cant deside which of the following bikes to pick. All of the bikes are in the same price range from my LBS with the KTM being the lightest weighing in at 7kg the rest are between 7 - 7.4kg without pedals. All have about the same reviews from different outlets and the parts are the same in that I can get them with Ultegra 6700. Please help me choose! Edited May 31, 2011 by Teardrop
gummibear Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Cannondale Super Six,got a very good review on Bike Radar a few weeks back.
I-FELT-the-FORCE Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Yip, Dale it should be. Why Shimano though???
Sammajoor Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I would go for the Dale, with SRAM Force, Good bike and good Groupset..
andretraut Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 (edited) Deep down, all cyclists one day want to ride a Specialized. You might as well get one that will concur that urge! Edited May 31, 2011 by andrè traut
Grondpad Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I have always wondered what the fuss is about the cannondales. Until my wife got one and I saw the craftsmanship and design. Now I want one! I vote for the dale!
Antoo Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 (edited) I've voted for the 'Dale, 'cause I find that Spez can be a wee bit overpriced for whats on offer.I've been shopping to build, and "dale stockists more prepared to negotiate than Spez. That said, the matt black S-works is really fine...............and SRAM finishes off the deal! Teardrop Posted May 31, 2011 Author Posted May 31, 2011 How would one know what geometry suits one best?
splat Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 How would one know what geometry suits one best? The Ergofit bike setup system takes your measurements and spits out a set of ideal and corrected measurements. Take the ideal measurements and choose a bike with the closest geometry.According to my Ergofit, my ideal top tube measurement for my road bike is 55.5cm, so my previous Scotts' 54.5cm was too small and the 56.5 was too big. Giant's Med is perfect!By the same token, my Giant Anthem Med is too small. The Large is too big, but the Santa Cruz Tallboy Large would be perfect. Of course, you can adjust the bike with saddle setback, height and stem length etc. But the better the frame suits you in the first place, the better the overall fit without having weird compromises.
