When I cycle home today it will be the first week I have 100% commuted on leg power. Been getting used to it over the last 4 weeks and WOW. Good for the brain, good for race times, saving a small outhouse full of ZARs on diesel.

Built myself a rigid 26er SS 85% from spares I had in the garage anyway, how can it be that this is the most fruitful investment of my professional career? Ok obviously I haven't been working long, but still, long live legpower

European winter approaching.  Becomming more and more difficult to commute.  But will keep trying.

Gorgeous morning in CT, beautiful light at 0540.

Didn't get to Germany in August, USA instead, maybe next time. Good luck with the plummeting temperatures!

The chill factor in this place is someting different.  Last winter I still cycled during the day but now with the commutes to work I have to cycle early in the morning.  One thing is for sure I am not kitted out for the winter.  There is a list of things that needs to be bought for that to happen and it is pretty certain I won't cycle through the winter.  I would need a load of motivation to cycle about an hour and a half to work in the dark and back in the dark.

Depending on rain there should be still another month of commuting lying ahead of me but new clear glasses will be a must.  Cycled yesterday without glasses for the first 30 minutes as I do not have clear lenses.  Big mistake.  My eyes are still burning today.

Riding with no eye protection is not recommended. The amount of protein flying around the watery areas makes it a no-no.

In summer yes and I soon realised why these guys don't have to worry about a lack of protein.  But now that it is getting colder there is comparitively almost no "air traffic".
