Recently got involved with Husky Rescue in Bloemfontein. At the moment it is only a guy and he's wife looking after 13 Husky's on their own expense. Yesterday I got my first phone call to go and pick up a Husky at a homeless shelter that was hit by a car. On the phone it sounded bad as they told me the dogs leg, hip and back is damaged.

The dog could only walk on three legs and was badly dehydrated when I picked him up. Took him to the vet and luckily nothing was broken. After some pain medication, a good meal, lots of water and sleep, he is running around this morning as if nothing had happened.

Currently staying with me and hopefully we can find he's owner or a good home.

You can always get another litter

Nooooooooo! Saying goodbye to each one of them was heart-breaking. It's not easy raising a litter. Bama is going to get fixed (for the second time) this week.

Out of sight, out of mind…apparently not. Little Vanilla Pod, who now has a home with my ex-wife and son Breandan, remembered me. Glad to see she's so happy in her new place! She'll get used to the collar!

First time walking/running with 3 dogs, gets a bit scary on the technical downhills when they are all pulling but great fun running flat out on the tree lined flat trails.

This was yesterday at Irene, on the left is Kaylee a friends dog, then Tequila and Panda Bear.

Animals has amazing memories. I bought my two bundles of joy from my BIL staying in Rustenburg. He raised them up to the age of 3 months, we collected them in December 2012. He visited us in December last year (2013) and the two pups went absolutely crazy when they heard his voice. I had to let them out in a hurry, and they were in his arms, the little male yelping uncontroleably with excitement. This after a year of not seeing him, and them still being pups when we collected them.

Sweet!

I like the idea that most of the pups are living with friends close by. I will also get to puppysit Vanilla when Kelly goes away at weekends.

Oi, Borborygmi, what's the little furry's name?

Thulani, he was a stray with a fractured tibia and fractured lumbar vertebra after a car accident.

Me fixed him, me kept him.
