Everybody here in the Centurion area, the little fella in the avatar went missing on the Knoppieslaagte road near the White Hills Flying Club. Please, if you have seen it or maybe picked it up give me a ring. I am beside myself with grief and worry about my little dog.

He answers to "Spot, Spotty or Spikkels" and if you want to press his button ask him, " waar is jou bal?"

He is a cross short legged Foxie, Jack Russel, Beagle and his tail has not been docked. His hair tends towards wiry and he has only one nut. The other is up in the fold of his leg.

He doesn't have an aggresive hair on his body but might snap if he is sacred.

It was so cold last night that they cuddled up together in front if the heater. Usually only Phoebe gets heater time and poor Joey has to use the other doggie bed.

I dig the big fella. So moet n hond mos lyk!

Before I got Tumbleweed - oh, it's his seventh birthday by the way  - I considered getting a Schnauzer, and even drew a pic of the dog I was dreaming about getting. Even had her name planned: Tulpen (Dutch for tulips). That pic is now in the possession of a Hubbette friend. When I met my mate Wendy's dogs - Fritz and Maya - I fell in love with them. She sent me a pic of Maya, which reminded me of my Tulpen pic, so I decided to draw Maya. Not finished yet, but this is how far I've got.

First time I have picked up a pencil properly in a number of years. So it's not my best effort.

Oh yeah happy birthday to tumbles. Give him a big random hub stranger birthday hug.

Will do!

He's getting a huge steak later!

Little aside…My son has been entertaining an exchange student from Kimberley. On Sunday, I had to look after them for a couple of hours. My ex-wife - coincidentally, seven years today our divorce was finalised (I used to joke that I got Tumbleweed in place of a wife because I wanted something that would be loyal! Hahahahaha!) - was worried about Pineo and my dogs as the kid has a morbid fear of them. I took him past my place on Sunday after movies, and let Tumbleweed out to greet him as he's a gentle soul. Pineo bonded with Tumbles immediately.

Thanks to all the pics you've posted of Tumbles I have no doubt that dog is a beautiful gentle soul - it's awesome that Tumbles can teach a kid to overcome his fear of dogs.

Btw, 7 is not that old - you make him out to be such a grandpa. My good friend Mozart stuck around till he was 13 - was blind in his last few years but that didnt' stop him from being the spirited soul he was.

Thanks! Tumbleweed is a gem. We struggled to get Pineo out of the car yesterday afternoon - he's that scared of dogs! He liked Tumbles, but was scared of how busy the pups were.

Took a bit of work, but Breandan and I managed to "socialise" him and the furries, and eventually he got comfortable with Squams and 'Bama too…

Ja, I know it's not that old, but Tumbles has aged before his time. I think the stress of the missing 18 months took its toll on him almost as much as it did on me. Thirteen is a ripe old age for a big breed dog. My beloved Alaska - actually my ex-wife's dog, but I managed to get custody of him - was that old when I had to let him go.
