Last year's route was really easy. Think it was because the change to OV didn't give enough time for Meurant to design a lekker route.

Does anyone even remember the old wiesenhof route? That was lank fun. Rough, hard, technical, bumpy, and a lot more climbing than last year's OV route.

If I'm not mistaken the route for the 24World champs a year or so back took 40-50mins for the fast guys. Most laptimes were more than an hour.

Don't count laps, count riding time, count enjoyment, count the stories afterward.

I'd rather ride 13laps of a fun technical course than the 23 I did last year on a course where you hardly had to brake and the singletrack only lasted a couple of minutes.

I for one am very excited about the new route. Even if looks to be a scorcher again.

Well, judging by Meurant's tweetys this morning the Shova would be ideal.

Last year was a 20 lap solo for me with time spent with the family being a priority.

This year I am a little (read lots) unfitter and maybe (read definataley) a few kg's heavier so it would be great to hit 20 laps again.

I understand it is more technical this year, and for this I am rather grateful. Should the route have remained the same as last year I think the race would very quickly start to loose it's appeal.

For those who did Wiesenhoff I would expect something along those lines.

Cooler weather this year will be a blessing as every bloody year it always cooks at this race.!

Tough but oh so much fun! The singletrack on the way down really makes it worth your while doing all that climbing! This event just keeps on getting better and better!

Big up to the Paul Roos Gimnasium (Team Mavic Giant) laaities, they were at one stage 20min behind Rocky Mountain and showed real character, digging real deep to win this event for the 3rd year in a row in the overall teams category!
