Hey guys sorry for starting this again but something VERY weird happened yesterday with my post and got screwed up...

I would like to know what how many bar you guys ride on with a ROAD Conti Gatorskin? But on clincher wheels.

I bought a pair Clinchers and it can take up to 10bar of pressure. Gatorkin recomend 8.5 but I spoke to a few guys yesterday and they said you can go higher...

What do you ride on? and what is you weight?

Thanx alot!!!

I use Gatorskins for training. 8.5 back, 7.5 front, 83kg, no problems with the tyres, current set has about 2500k's (puncture free) on them and should still be good for at least another 1000.

I generally ride any road tyre as hard as I can get it. Training wheels, anyn tyre, as long as it's 23mm wide, around 12bar.

Racing, I used to use 18mm and same 12bar, now I use 20/21mm and same, 11 bar.

Doesn't matter the brand.

I weigh 60kg's, soaking wet.

Huh? You get 3500km on a set of tyres? WTF?

I have over 10000km on a set of tyres on my bike at the moment.

Easy to fix ~ ride faster, and put some meat on your weight weenie bones.

Then you won't get 10000ks on a tyre.

Thats what I'm doing as well works fine. One puncture in 2000K's. Front tyre looks almost new back one also looks like another 1000K.

I used to ride my tyres as hard as i could, but now run them between 7 and 8 bar... more comfortable, you get more life out of them, if it happens to rain while you out there you have better grip....and apparently they have disproved the theory that harder is faster???

To add to caad4 's comment , yes some rims have a max pressure limit too.so check that , there will be a small sticker on the rime somewhere , if not go onto the manufactures website and check it out.
