Broad 7/11, best figures prior were 7/44.

Innings now being compared to the 2nd innings at Newlands 2011 (which is the origin of the thread)

Might have to dig out my pommy passport.... thank god it's not as bad as Newlands. I was doing laps from the Maternity ward to the ground in my Aussie shirt and copping it from every human in the mother city.

Nurses have a lot of cricketing knowledge and can surprisingly mean. ;)

2. The first innings

If these two teams ever conspire to play well in the same match, it could be an all-time classic. In fact, if they manage to play badly in the same match, it could be just as much of an all-time classic. As it is, we have seen a series that has been both compelling and curiously unsatisfying, marked by decisive outbreaks of excellence, and equally decisive outbreaks of rubbishness, as the teams have pitted strength against weakness, and weakness against strength.

Only four times in the last 25 Ashes Tests has the first-innings difference between the two sides been less than 100 runs.

Well the sun is out and Aus is struggling. Rubs some salt in the wounds as they just had to survive till lunch for the conditions to improve, but they just blindly tried to hit themselfs out of a situation playing like its a ODI. you cant expect something else though with your captain setting the prime example. They need to pull a rabbit out of a hat with this one just to get a draw IMHO
