dunno how we are going to fare in India. The guys could well pull a rabbit out of a hat, we still have the players to do it and India could underestimate us. plus these are all pretty much unknown venues. i think we'll see very small crowds.

1st test is at this ground

http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/ground/58547.html

only one test there, V England in 2016. they got bowled out cheaply twice, with 16 wickets going to spin.

2nd test is here

http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/ground/545380.html

once again, only holding its second test and once again spin bamboozled, but this time it was India getting bowled out twice for just over 212 runs

3rd test is here

https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/10839/scorecard/1062575/india-vs-australia-3rd-test-ind-v-aus-2016-17

same as the other two, this will be the 2nd test at this ground

in this one we saw 1250+ runs with just 25 wickets falling

I see England have found a way to stop Smith from scoring.

It is going to be a tough tour indeed. And while I may feel that Nkwe is getting set up for failure I find his attitude commendable. See the article I linked below. I really hope he can pull off a miracle but it is rather unlikely given the circumstances. That said his track record until now is actually quite good. Definitely has the potential to succeed at international level even if his elevation is currently a bit left field. Wondering what your thoughts are concerning him?

Failure in India won’t be ‘the end of the world' for Enoch Nkwe https://es.pn/2KKlK0g

my SA cricket plan.

We are f@#$ if we do what we are doing.

The gap between the big three and the rest was evident at the world cup.

Sure NZ got to the final and a ballhair from winning it, but that was like just one of the outsiders having a decent streak. The other big three just did what they do, and while a world cup result is no real way to judge the lay of the land - the chips did fall that way.

The funding model for cricket is skewed, the big three create all the wealth, control the wealth and it's scraps for the rest.

There's two things we can do.

PLAN A

convince the big three to include us, as the "best of the rest". For that we need a)decent performances b)an attractive proposition

deconstructing a)apart from actually winning a world cup, we have been #1 and the team to beat at various times. Due to the protracted timing of scheduling, things can't be adjusted quickly enough. We have never been "hot property", when we were the bizniz.

b) we need to make RSA an awesome place to tour - for players and fans. CSA need to get together with tourism SA/ dept of economic development/whatever and put on a proper experience. We got the timezone with the UK market, a summer tour during the depth of their winter, beaches/game parks/cheap touring. This really starts with schmoozing the suits, remember  IPL1 got moved here in a heartbeat when issues arose and we pulled it off.

PLAN B

breakaway. with all these T20 leaguse everything is going a bit global anyway. Pakistan players are not allowed to play in the IPL, you know because, the BCCI are basically kids who got bullied who have now hit puberty and are taking the low road.

so we get together with Sri lanka/pakistan/NZ and windies.

we make something rad.

they can have an ashes twice a year and dehli belly for poms a september fixture.

PLAN C

business as usual. out only hope here is that the bounty of potential talent in growing the game to the townships bring us a WINDIES type arsenal of pacemen that will just dominate no matter what.

no matter which one we do. CSA will stuff it up.

We let India prove that we are their bitch the first time when it mattered, and the player of a generation JK got a damp squib of a good bye.

Some drama and angst after Stevie gets hit on the neck earlier on

England end with a lead of merely 8

Now... 2 down with less than 20 ahead it something
