Cheapie i picked up , even for how little i paid the quality is really astonishing.

Also my first watch that has a display case back , so that's cool 😁

Nice!

I think Citizen and Seiko often get overlooked in the watch business, my eco drive has not left my wrist since buying it 12 years ago.

If I ever feel the need to splash out on a pricey one I would be tempted to get a Grand Seiko, meant to be amazing quality but without paying the name brand premium. And I think you get the satisfaction of being in a limited club where few people know about craftsmanship you are actually wearing.

I won't be able to have a luxury watch again for atleast 5/6 years but either one of these will keep me happy for a very long time to come

Not sure if this has been posted on here before, but I found it pretty interesting and I figured @Wyatt Earp might appreciate!

It’s amazing what they have achieved in such a short space of time.

A brand on the rise for sure.

Not the best pic from me old phone, or me.  I very much like an Orient and a Seiko as dailies, but I asked Swiss relatives about more affordable Swiss watchmakers with some heritage (simply not interested in Rolex and their dishonest marketing hype, for one).  Roamer was one of those appreciated in Switzerland and I wanted to add a skeleton.

Edit:  A bit of Roamer infamy.  Paul Tibbets wore a Roamer while piloting the Enola Gay to drop the atomic bomb over Hiroshima on 6 August 1945.

Has anyone used Chrono 24 here? Do we pay duties over and above listed? How is the service? Any risk of knockoffs?

I have been eyeing a beautiful Mako 40, which I want to put a Nato strap on and abuse the hell out of it. Any suggestion for a local (GP) stockist?

It only provides a platform for sellers and buyers.  Despite their assurances, loads of fong kongs have been sold.  They also charge retailers and dealers a fee for each sale, so there’s a good chance that you might get a better deal from an official retailer on eBay.

I’ve had good Orient deals on eBay, quick too.  The Blue Ray took 3 days to get from midwest USA to my local post office.  Despite being only two blocks from me, the post office took 5 days to notify me.  0% duty on watches (just checked the SARS site to ensure it’s unchanged) but you will be charged VAT.

I very much like the blue versions of the Mako and Ray and Kamasu, striking sunburst blue dials.  Green Kamasu is great too imo.

Great design too, clearly not a homage, love the dial too.

Its spectacular, and a bit of a nod to the Rolex "James Cameron" Deepsea SeaDweller "D-Blue/Big Blue" ...have a connection there too..he chartered one of our vessels for the dive to the bottom of the Marianas Trench in 2012...the "D-Blue" was born in 2014 from that event...

Thank You. The zero duty is great.

I don't know why I never thought of eBay, just browsed through it. More variety than Chrono24, I'm bound to find something.  Amazon has great new ones.
