Zac.A Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Looking at getting a pair of new bib shorts because I just outgrew a pair of mine. I have two options. Assos F1 Uno for R1800+-Craft Elite Attack for R1999. Haven't ridden either brand before so any help would be much appreciated.I know the assos mille is great, but please, only reviews/comments on the uno and elite attack. Cheers
Newboy Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) Assos Mile, last pair was about R2000. It is the long distance short, I swear by them. Edited December 19, 2011 by TryBoy
Zula Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I have the Uno's and honestly prefer my Cape Storm It all depends on what YOUR @ss likes That being said, I saw the Craft stuff a few days ago and it looks seriously top end. I doubt you would go wrong with either. My vote however is for the Capestorm Nitros (sorry to confuse you further but its really omfy)
Just Keep Pedaling Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I have Assos and they are great all round. Only issue is get the black one's - the coloured ones stain with even a little dirty water on them. Never even heard of Craft but they would have to be fanstastic to beat the Assos.
Oltremo Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Assos is a great Bib shorts.I also have a Giordana, comfortable, quality and cheaper than Assos.Recently bought Castelli, also very nice, comfortable, quality.
Denyed Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Still outgrowing clothes and spending so much on them? Must have VERY generous parents!
gummibear Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I ride with the Craft bibs and they are great and they have washed well.I only paid R80 euros for them though.Trek Team,Craft bibs are now marked down to 35 euros a pair.
Pusher Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I have a Craft winter jacket a couple of tops. Quality is fantastic and realy comfy. Don't have any bibs yet so can't comment on those.
Zac.A Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 Still outgrowing clothes and spending so much on them? Must have VERY generous parents! The other bibs were 3 years old. The assos bibs in medium go up to 179cm tall, so they'll last around 4-5years too.I also have to contribute 30% to anything I want to buy thats expensive.

'Dale Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Oh, by the way, get Assos.,Longstanding brand and leader in cycling shorts.
Thomo Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Assos quality in undeniable, but that doesn't mean that they are for everyone. Some people may find a R500 locally manufactured bib more comfy.I popped in at the new Lab store in CBD where they are stocking Craft.Quality looks really good, but again, that doesn't mean that they are going to be good for you. Most top brands compare favourably ... it's a matter of finding one that works well for you.Other brands worth looking at:- Santini- Nalini
Let's Ride Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Out of all my bibs my rapid sport bibs are the best. Custom made to fit me and it fits well. After you have played around with one pair and found the perfect size it's easy to get a few more made as I have all the measurements on hand. Oh and the price @ 500 zar is great!!! I really cannot comment on any other brand as I haven't tested any of them.
