Now I undertand why sum poeples shun their ever so trusty 26" hardtail and buy a Super Dooper Carbon snap, crackle, pop bike with twenty naainer wheels ....... And they ustify it by saying it "rolls" better....... Horseshyte!!!!!!!

Gullible!!!!!!!

WTF you on drugs or something??

What has that got to do with my post about racing versus just doing an event for the fun of it?

What I race on has got nothing to do with the Fact that I race my bike because I Love to race and compete.

I'm not sure if i agree that everyone wants to beat the pants off everyone else? i reckon at an MTB race of 1000 entries. the first 200 have seriously competitive spirits, possition 200 - 500 are after PB and maybe get a kick from whipping their mates, 500 to 850 are after a personal challenge in life and 150 riders in the field just love riding their bikes?

ask the 20 000 riders at 94.7 why they are there... im not sure they there to compete flat out.. infact the minority are probably ttying to proove something, the rest are challenging themselves.

I like to race my knitting

Personally I dabble in a bit of speed crochet alongside my passing interest in extreme ironing.

Have to agree, and the american formula is changing, not by choice I have to say, but makes for a very interesting next couple of years....

Sorry dont want to hijack the thread, but I just saw your "area" of residence as Darling in the Cape.

Now I remember a year or so ago buying a locally "Darling brewed beer" on the road to Saldana Bay at a small restaurant stop. It was great, and I tried fruitlessly to find the brewary, I even drove to Darling to look but could not find it. There were no contact details on the bottle except a telephone number and to this day no-one has ever answered the phone. :D

Do you know of it and how I can contact them?.

Sorry - hi-jack off!

Oi - double post again - finger issues thinking of that beer. :D

Go to www.darlingbrew.co.za. They just opened a tasting room here as well. They do supply quite a few liquor stores in cape town, but the beer doesn't quite fit in your bottle cage though.

GoG, I remember seeing, sampling and purchasing some of the Darling beer at the Neighbourgoods market in downtown Jozi. Have a look here as to when they are up and running: http://www.neighbourgoodsmarket.co.za/ . Great day out but go early. They also have the &Union beers there - you can also get them at Makro Woodmead..
