A heads up that the thumb tack sabotage tactics are being used again in the Cradle, my partner punctured heading back to Hans Strydom just after Cradle Restraunt turn off, heard of others as well. These are hectic sized tacks and black so not easily spotted.

Not cool!

Based on the last thread on this topic they arn't doing it for kicks, but rather don't want cyclists riding there.

If someone catches them I hope they get attempted murder convictions.

little bit dramatic there

"Murder by Thumbtack"

My mind is beginning to form classic Monty Python sketches...

One option would be to collect the "thumb tacks" and kindly deposit them out of the way where they'll be more seen easily so the original owner can collect them. For instance on the road leading to the Cradle Restaurant?

I have an invention that might solve your problem here. It's a fork mounted broom/magnet that clips in front of your front wheel. It sweeps the road and catches anything metallic before you ride over it. The huge bonus is it picks up coins too, so you could very well end up at the Vida with a few rond collected. Do I hear "latte' " anyone?

Hello,

I have been talking to the chairman of the cradle residents Ass and we are trying to find out who it is, there was some found last week by the lion park and the lower circle.

We need to find a pattern to these pins being dropped on the road.

If you have any information as to the exact location on the craddle please email me , mtb@cgcycling.co.za

The res Ass also want to put a stop to this and through the craddle watch system are on the look out for the people responsible.

Infinitely more productive than the redistribution of the thumb tack.

Just weird that CGC mountainbiking and not road cycling is stepping to the fore. Thanks!

Not that it's a fantastic excuse but when you see how the two major clubs behave in the Cradle it's no wonder someone is throwing tacs in the road. I feel ashamed to be on a bike when I see how they ride, spilling into the oncoming traffic lane. A real shame!
