We once had 8 puncture in one race on the Tandem. Both spare tubes were used. It was NOT something in the tyre as they were all on different places spread over the wdth of the tread and some were on the front wheel.

And there I thought I was having a bad time with punctures! Was just wondering on my way home after fixing ANOTHER one why they happen to me at this time of year. But no, not close to yours (yet!).

However, last weekend it was the back tyre that decided to make like a python that ate a rat. I think something in the casing lost hold of itself so there is a serious kink in the whole thing...

I got 14 in my MTB on friday.

Most of them came out and sealed, but my back tyre (Continental something supersonic) couldn't handle it and has had a temper tantrum.

Anyway, punctures are the worst, luckily it was at the end of my ride.

minimum 1 per ride, every single ride, for 6 months. max per ride were 3 though, after that I would just call the wife to come pick me up.

it was so bad that I gave up cycling in 2011. The emperors ride was the last ride until december 2011

Many years back i had a similar problem and i also had about 8 or 9 punctures between my front and back wheels and i had to borrow tubes from passing cyclists. My problem had 2 causes. One was that my front tyre had a piece of glass in it and i never checked the inside of the tyre so it kept on puncturing and the other cause was my rim tape that had broken on a nipple and it kept tearing the tube.

Now i always check those 2 things first on a pucture.

Yes. Here you go.

Bushmans Classic, 2009

Self: 5 rear. 3 front.

Partner: 3 rear. 2 front.

3 tubes total, and two repair kits. Still had to finish with a rear going flat.

An enjoyable day out.

The sweep were not too far behind.

I know Wannabe said the other day that he got 6 or 8 (can't remember which) on a training ride..... that is hectic!

It was 8, and the last straw was when the rear tyre burst while we were busy fixing a flat on my training partners bike. :cursing: FFS, we were not even cycling, my bike was laying on its side in the grass verge. :D

Did the OP not ask how many punctures, ie how many times did you have to change the tube NOT the amount of holes in one tube?
