Not cool but kickers have been stealing a couple of meters here or there as long as I can remember.

Pretty stupid though IMHO and he definitely wont do it again after this backlash.

What about Pollard who moved his ball further away to use the X - lines as a marker to kick over?

Yeah..I kind of agree... Stealing yards is in the kickers hand book.... But never as blatant as this though

Did Pollard move the ball there or did the ref mark it? The ball was kicked from at least 5m closer to the touch line than the line from where the try was scored, so a lot more difficult angle.

Kicker can move it back as far as he likes, just not closer to the uprights, or sideways to improve his angle.

Hansen's response to this... basically everyone is doing it so what's the issue?

But is was blatant from Barrett - waited for the ref to turn his back then gave it a good old nudge forward.

Correct, Ref showed the spot in the wrong place. It should have been at least that 5m to the left, which would have made it an easier kick. But at the end, it did not matter, he slotted it perfectly between the uprights.

Ja, didn't matter in the end, Pollard kept his nerve. But I can imagine the backlash if he did miss it, and also if something like that had to happen in a WC knockout game.

Also I see there was a hint of Barrett stepping on the touchline in the lead up to the AB try. Haven't seen much more about that, so was probably not, but maybe should have gone to the TMO to check??

saw that it was very close in the highligths... was very surprised they didnt even go back to double check.

That I know yes.

Was definitely not in line from where try was scored, could have been error by ref though.
