So this dad takes his kids to school on his bike along the Table View Cycle Lanes and then goes back in the opposite direction again later to work.

They always look like they are having a blast!

Passed them this morning again.... good on you man!

Impressive! can't wait for my 4 month old daughter to be strong enough to sit in a baby seat.

Even the passers by have to say AWWWWGGH, with my 8 month old on the on the carrier.

You will enjoy also

@DamMTBer ... what age did you start riding with the little one ... my youngest son is now 7 1/2 months and I would be keen to take him out for a ride ... just need to find a helmet to fit his little head (Smallish boy being 5 1/2 weeks prem)

I bought the carrier from another Hubber a month or so ago.

So he was +/- 7 months old. Thought of the helmet, but so far haven't found one, he has fallen asleep but besides that he is watching everywhere aspecially when mom wants to race.

The trailer I get, but is that a little seat that fits on the top tube.?

How on earth do's it stay there.? and how safe is it.? I dont know but if something happens it looks to me like the little one is the first over the bars.

The 'seat on the top tube' thing is similar to the products from WeeRide. http://www.weeride.co.za/ The seats come with 'saftey belts' so, as long as your bike doesn't go down they should be fairly safe. The question is my mind has always been 'what happens if you go down with the bike'. A mate of mine has one - and both he and the kiddie love it. Edited by Dubber

If the little one in front goes over the bars, I think the other one on the trailer is in for some major airtime

Oh, Okay, never seen one before.

Looks like its great for rides around the park or the local suburban street but I am not convinced I would venture onto too many roads around Gauteng with one. There must be some sort of loss of Vision, stability and control for the rider especially if the youngster moves around a bit.

Yeah - that's what I thought too, but apparently not. They are strapped into the seat much like a baby car seat, so there's not much room for movement (apart from head and arms). According to my mate, appart from riding with his knees out and the added weight there's not too much to it. But then again, he is a sensible chap and like you say, he stays fairly close to home and/or rides on specific bike paths. It's not like he's bombing down the local single tack :) Edited by Dubber
