Hi Cippo

Would love to but all the darn pics are above 2mb and I'm having a battle trying to re-size.

The Sciroccos look gorgeous. Absolutely in love with the hubs on them

Sean

OK, OK, show pictures with Sciroccos on the bike, but I can tell you now, I'll still vote for the Shamals when it comes to riding. :)  :whistling:

Hi all

Introducing .... "The bicycle the Hub built......well almost"

Going through the parts inventory list for the C40 a few weeks back, I discovered that almost everything for this build was purchased from a fellow hubber. Every component or accessory, with the exception of the bottom bracket cable guide, headset spacers and cable end-clips have been purchased from a hubber. The tubes are from CWCycles, but since the Oom has a Hub account, i suppose he's considered a hubber .

I purchased the frameset in September 2016; its a C40 Mk2 with Urs Freuler geometry, and had to control the urge jumping into the build, since it was planned as a 2017 project. Some of you may recognize it in a different guise from earlier in this thread .

Sourcing the various components began back in February, with the last purchase, being the wheelset, taking place in November.

Firsts on a build for me include; 1st Colnago frame, 1st "deepish"-section wheelset and 1st wireless bead tyres. Also a first... 3mm water bottle cage bolts. Not come across these before .

It's going to be difficult judging which particular component has the greatest effect on the bicycle's ride quality until i've put a decent mileage on the bicycle.

I've completed a few projects the past couple of years but have to admit this build has probably been the most collaborative with more "assists" than on any other build. Many thanks to everyone who has offered time, assistance, advice, great deals and to those persons who have donated parts.

If this C40's ride result provides even half the pleasure the project build has, then this is gonna be one great ride.

Many thanks to :

EvanB, JMK1, Morph, King of the Downhill, Cippo, HeartCoppi, CWCycles, trail-er-park, Brett, plus 1 other - apologies but i forgot the sellers name and my LBS.

Regards

Print some Gupta faces on the individual sheets and watch sales go up!

I have ordered Colnago logo toilet paper for toilet roll system as above! That will sort the buggers out that come to visit me with their Bianchi’s.......Colnago innovation!

I hear Colnago are bringing out the new Colnago Zuma in the New Year! This bike was specialy designed by Ernesto’s innovative engineers and designers in conjunction with Mr Zuma to get out of tight situations quickly.

PS 2 orders were placed seconds after the announcement on the model namely by Roberto Mugabe and Donaldo Trump!♣️

Nouja . So nice to be able to post this .

Rebuild of 1982 Colnago Export completed .

Found this , bought unseen .

It was a complete bike . Waiting for it to arrive I was looking for Campagnola group set/ parts . I mean what else ?

Upon arrival I noticed that the wheels were of some unknown origin , derailliers and levers and brakes were old Shimano . But , the crankset and stem was Gippieme .

I read up on Gippieme , ( do that if you have not done so ) , and these were the Hermann edition . So the search began for the rest of the groupset . It now has a full Gippieme groupset . Hubs are Campagnola ( thanks Eppie ) , rims are Ambrosio ( thanks San Francisco ) .

So purists shoot me for the non period Brooks saddle and aero brake levers which I like . It is my bike after all . Just need the toe clips .

Paint job , thanks Bogus One .

Guys please, I’m looking for a C40. Size I’m riding is a C60 54s.

Best sure bet is e-bay.

Here on the Bikehub they do come up from time to time, but then you have to really jump or it will be gone, mostly at the asking price. If it has Campy parts on it, then you have to be as quick as Flash with cash.

Just keep looking, it will come up.
