Hi NAV006

Have him build a "custom" bike, all at the same shop (then you could weal a deal better).

My suggestion would be a Niner, Santa Cruz or Cube (something cult'y).

Rig it as best you can, and with a 50k budget, that will be GOOD!!!

Like this we can choose from rims, spokes, hubs, chain, derailleur cables, BB, fork, etc...

Should be a killer bike!!!

For that money, a very very sweet custom build!

Hell no, R30k for a stock bike and donate the rest to a worthy cause like my own custom build fund (currently at R0k).

Cannondale Flash 29er - but you will battle to find one due to demand, depends on your size though.

i will say it slowly.......... C A N N O N D A L E !

Just make sure to buy 2 R25k ones, so when one is in the shop, he could still ride the other one. But seriously, not bad bikes, just heard of a few warrantee issues lately. Could be coincidence though.

A guy with R50K in his pocket should know exactly what he wants! Not knowing, makes me want to suggest an entry level bike to try out the sport. If he is already a hardcore mountain biker, and still don't know what to get, I also suggest an entry level bike.

 Well said my man. Well said!

Also wondering if he is planning to race A group, since us normal folk that arent A seeded dont have much use for 50k HT, A 50k Dually is for us B and C group funriders :P

But it wasn't a 29er !!!

Top 29er in the mens race was Specialized :-)

Men's winning Scott was a 650B

If he owes nothing on his car, his house, and all his wife's Edgars accounts are paid up, then he can start following the advice on this thread  Call me Mr. Voice Of Reason :whistling:
