Went from motocross to enduros to mtb and found that my current mtb is probally the closest you will get to a enduro bike without an engine.

I think its a natural progression as most of the dirt handling skills you carry over to mtb.

Yes, just took the motor out and added pedals.....

Jokes aside I found that I was squeezing the bicycle with my knees on the downhills when you should be doing the opposite.

Also these damn cyclist ride with there brakes the wrong way round.

I raced enduro for a few years. The technical skills learnt on the boney translate well to the bicycle. I still miss the horse power every now and then, but I think I am happier on my MTB now. I think when one moves into middle age, fear of injury becomes a bigger issue than it used to be as well as general health and fitness. It seems to be a natural progression for a lot of enduro / MX riders.

First thing I did was swop mine around.

Changed mine around, could not get used to it being the wrong way round. Keep looking for my clutch.

So that means you actually use the rear brake?

My XC came out with the front brake at the left? how is that wrong?

I did a fair amount of Enduro way back when - what got me really hooked on mtb was letting the brakes go on a downhill :) Love the peace & quiet on a mtb though as well.

You can see who comes from an MX background when the technical stuff comes up. Also we tend to get much bigger air and ironically have larger wipeouts!

Enjoy the fitness aspect of the pedal bike.

Oh, a complete hooligan who hangs cable on the bike, but tempted to get a bike again and into the enduro scene now that the 40s have arrived.

Have not owned a mx/enduro bike, but have ridden lots of times. I SHALL own an enduro bike, one of these sunny days.

Some days I just wish my Shova had an engine...

+1 on the brakes. One of the first "mods" I did on my bike. Road bike not so easy though.... I do miss the wrist twist though especially on the hills :(

MX was my #1 love in sport, used race back in the 1980's. Would love to own a mx or enduro bike again....Definetly helped with the mtbking skills but takes some getting used to having to pedal instead of twisting the grip to maintain momentum.

Just used for years having my right hand for the front brake and my left for the clutch - it just comes naturally now to have my right as the front, do not use my rear much - that is why I have a 180mm on the front and only a 140mm on the rear - pretty much the same as an off road bike, the bigger disk on the front.
