Just used for years having my right hand for the front brake and my left for the clutch - it just comes naturally now to have my right as the front, do not use my rear much - that is why I have a 180mm on the front and only a 140mm on the rear - pretty much the same as an off road bike, the bigger disk on the front.

Common issue with bicycles, front brake on the "wrong" side, always have to ask the bike shop to change them around whenever getting a new bike. Have to be carefull when riding the wifes bike, she says she's normal.... Rented a bike once for the day, joh was an issue as they were pretty damn sharp for a rentabike

Yip, thats why most mtb brakes swing both ways (like the Bulls from blue to pink) to allow one to change from left to right.

The missus also has hers set up as "normal " and will not let me touch it.

I've transitioned in the other direction to most it would seem. Started riding XC then more AM stuff, then dirt jumping, then a DH rig appeared and now I'm riding a fair amount on Enduro & loving it all. I find the Enduro outings to be a really good work out and definitely limit the arm pump I feel while riding my DH bike.

I'm yet to change my bicycles to a moto-style brake setup, but I am keen to try it out. Currently it doesn't phase me too much & I'm yet to be caught out by grabbing a handfull of the wrong brake (touch wood).

Or switch to one brake like MissionS and you'll have 50% less chance of grabbing the wrong one

Although I see he runs 2 on his DH bike

When i was racing bmx as a laaitie we only had the rear brake on our bikes. That was usually set up on the right (right handers), and left handers probably the other way around.

Been riding motorcycle for years and i prefer my front brake on the left on my bicycles. It's completely normal for me. No problem swopping between the bony and the bicycle.

Wrt the brake setup, if you come from bmx then the back brake is on the right an from mx then front on the right. I rode a bit of mx but ten years of solid bmx riding means right hand for skids, its instinct and will never change. Its like trying left foot braking in your car, you WILL lock up the first time!

and my KTM enduro bike.

Some dude in my office building rocked up here on Friday on a new 690 Enduro. I told him I was gonna take it home and make babies with it. Fark, it's hot!

I had both a mtb and motorbike at one stage of my life and in a blonde moment on the motorbike I grabbed a handful of clutch while wheelying, instead of back brake. The consequences were not pretty
