Get a good road shoe in a dark colour, most trail shoes are not great on tar, and also most trail shoes are neautral, so if you are not, this may need to be a consideration

I saw that Salomon have a hybrid shoe, looks pretty nice for a casual running shoe, its never going to be tops for either road or trail, but should be fine for anything under a half marathon and provided you are not too serious about your running

Oh, well, that wont help the crazy cat lady. She runs a lot more than that...

I've got both Merrel and NewBalance trail shoes. M's really great for all kinds of trail stuff, NB's a bit sketchy but a better cross-over. They're just a bit hard / unforgiving on the tar but not bad whereas M's tread feels really rough on tar especially after some distance. Best all round shoes I've ever had were an earlier version of Montrail's Flow shoes. Have a look at those! They're very comfortable, strong, have great grip but their tread is more suited to a range of running surfaces... Only negative may be they don't breathe as well as NB but i'm going back to them for my next round. You can get them through mountainmailorder co za if nowhere else. Love to know what you get!

Inov-8 F-Lite 195 without a doubt. You can use them for anything.

Best shoes I've ever owned.

Even got my girlfriend to get a pair, she loves them too. We use them for all our trail and road events.

hybrid shoe? it's going to be the on or the other, personally i think hybrid doesnt exist.

its either for road, or for trail. everyone might argue with that statement, but its mine.

now....have a look at inov like Goobacks said, Newton (Zola currently in country promoting them).

Dont be fooled into buying a pretty or good looking shoe, also ask the sales guy how far the shoe is from Natural running, coz you will end up hating yourself if you arent prepared for a natural shoe.

we are all different. a lot of these guys are giving you terrible advice. because it is just the shoe that works for them.

answer:go to a specialist shop, they might tell you rather to get two pairs.
