I have just seen a 1998 Giant ATX DH2 sitting in a Pawnbroker in Berg Street in PMB.

They want R2500 bucks for it ... I nearly bought it just for memorabilia sake ... but stopped myself as i have too many bikes in the garage already.

But here is an image of the equivalent bike (not the exact one - but same model)

This one has blue Manitou XVert Forks .... a Fox Float R rear shock, and then the original MRP chain guide with the 2 orange rollers ... and then cable discs ... hahahaha

WOW ... cant believe there are still bikes from that era out there ...

Anyone on here ever have one???

I'm sure that in capable hands, that Giant would get DH times not far of the "modern" bikes. R2500 is a bargain for that bike. Give it a service and it'll rock again.

i think they would break before that happened, i saw some footage from 1994 and the tracks were completely different, you could probably get the world cup 6 years in a row on a trance, they were that smooth.

That AMPs a sexy thang.

I live next to a pretty poor coloured area. Every morning there is a oke that comes riding from that direction on an AMP just like that.

Sshht! I've got a Gary Fisher hanging in the garage which is older than that!

AAAhhhh.......the famously tough Fisher.........the one that outlasted numerous other more modern bikes........and never put a foot wrong.......that Fisher? You need to bring it out to give it some sunlight before it turns into a vampire!

When I started riding the cannondale was the bike we all dreamed about. Then came the super V dh bike. There is still a new super V frame for sale at recycles in bellvile. And a brand new morewood prime8 !

Awesome, offer him some cash and make a rad retro single speed townie out of it. That thing is built for some serious customisation.
