Great weather, not nearly as much mud as I was expecting. Managed 2nd in the 38km

 

Few beers and a spur buger afterwards is always lekker

Eina! 1st race on my SS finished outside my goal..

.. around 4hr10min... was good fun I'll be back for more

 

Respect for doing that on a SS! That was a helluva lot of climbing. At least it wasn't as much of a gore fest as some predicted.

 

I really enjoyed it. Pity I had to bail - was riding with my wife, and she packed it in with about 10k to go. I think she got gastro. :-(

I was having a lovely ride in the 38km, near the front and in the last single track the winner of the 57km came past me like I was carrying a couch up a staircase... that had been greased... gees... and then I fell in a ditch...

 

Good fun nevertheless!! seemed to be tougher than previous years...

Jip me on the silver Giant. The dude that won was cooking! All the fast school kids are away on holiday, with them the results would have been much different in the 38km
