Morningside cycles received a batch of Scotts a week ago, DT swiss rear shock - same problem as 2012!!!

Stupidity is expecting doing the same thing twice and expecting different results...

DTswiss cheese again tsk tsk tsk.

What is wrong with the DT Swiss shock?

I don't have one and swear by Fox front and rear but would like to know

According to the shop owners I have chatted to, the rear shock has been updated/graded and should be better than last year's model.

Nice looking bikes

I refuse to buy a 29er bike without a thru-axle front. I mean what were they thinking?

I wonder - all those Scott engineers who have probably forgotten more about bike design than the rest of us here collectively know about bike design, obviously weren't thinking when they chose a QR axle. Either that or the team responsible for the front suspension design, chose paper instead of rock when they had a ching chong cha contest to decide which axle type to go with.

Just explain this to me, I know most brand today have thruaxles but I dont see why, are they suggesting that my 9mm quick release setup has some flex on it. I cant see how it can flex? I dont get the idea of the thruaxle, I mean your spokes will flex a million times more than a ±10cm long quickrelease axle.

alloy compared to carbon - alloy flexes more than carbon (ask any roadie)

same thing with thru axles they flex less than QRs

why would you pay more for your bike to flex?

Carbon flexes more than alloy, that's why some roadies prefer alu stems and bars. Carbon is lighter and lay up design allows for making frames which flex in some planes and are stiff in others.

Is it true that the Addict R3 is being discontinued in 2013? Anyone know why as it doesn't seem there will be a replacement. Carbon Road range is now just the CR1 (more relaxed geometry) or the foil (aero)...

It was already discontinued as at end 2011. The 2012 range only included Foils and Cr1s

aha ok thanks. last time i was seriously looking (this time last yr) I almost got myself the R3....

Are there any differences between the 2012 CR1 and the 2013? ie if consdering this does one take the discounts presumably available on the 2012's or any reaosn to wait for the 2013's esp if you can't find a bargain on a 2012....?
