Or how about a 'rate this post' box. So if you think a post is really awesome give it a 10, or if someone is being a douche bag give the post a 1. Then you can also have an average rating.

Ok... fair enough, but it's a sunday night and you are drinking coffee... so you are probably a boring old troll in snor town... therefore, to be fair I think we should have another multi-dimensional mechanism to safeguard us against this type of thing happening... so maybe we should be able to rate your rating? so my chommies could rate you giving me a 7 a 3, and then it would reduce my douchebag rating and increase yours????

Yes sorry to interrupt but your chommies' rating would not be unbiased. So I suggest a rating to rate the impartiality of the rating......
