Anyone got one of these? how strong, durable etc are they?

 

Looking at the 2 bike version at R1800 vs R3500 for the thule - which is basically the same except for the name - or should i just grab my gonads and buy the thule?

Just get the Thule, at least there will be no dissapointment later on if it turns out to not be what you wanted. I got the Thule and am very happy

i see that - for the sake of R600 - i would sooner buy a brand new one

Since then my confidence in it has grown, and i have done >140km/h with it on longer drives with no problems.

 

I was skeptical at first, but it seems to be ok.

Of course if I were a rich man, I'd buy the Thule.

Where do they sell the Raleigh racks, I have a mate looking for a bike rack but it on a tight budget so I may suggest one of these.

Thanks Marius, he looked at the Menabo 3 bike as well, that is one of the options at this stage.

Raleigh will do exactly the same thing that the Thule will do. It will transport your bikes. Why pay the premium for the name "Thule" or the "made in Sweden" label?

Take a look at the Buzz Racks as well. Bought the 4-bike ride on from www.rackandcarry.co.za and had great service from Barry.

 

Rack is really well made and he'll deliver nationwide.

So what do you guys prefer, those L shaped ones where you bike hangs on or the platform type bike carrier, or roofracks? sorry for the high jack

Always a ride on for me (platform).

Steadier, front wheel doesn't turn, weight not on top tube etc.
