Grey Hubs Posted February 6, 2017 Share Excellent tyre choice btw....I don't know these tyres. Came with the wheels...On my first ride I managed to burp the tyre at 1.7bar and cut the side wall. Not sure if it's the hoops or the tyre. Managed to plug the cut (lucky) and get back. The good grip on the rear could be thanks to this tyre as well? I found the front gave way with out warning on the loose pack and mud... What is your experience with these tyres?

The side wall cut surprises me! Google them and read the reviews...I know most people who used them in the Epic rated them very highly.

Grey Hubs Posted February 6, 2017 Share Looks pretty good. Is that a 650 fork? Can you believe, a 29er 130mm fork! I was also surprised how well it look with 650B. I didn't experience a huge geometry change with the different wheels either... Captain Fastbastard Mayhem

Johnny Lawless Posted February 13, 2017 Share Does anyone know (of course someone does) the details of the rear shock on the 110? Length etc. would like to know if a Monarch Plus RCT3 200x57 would work or not. awesme
Tony datoy Posted February 14, 2017 Share The rear shock is 184x44. A 200x57 doesn't work. Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted February 16, 2017 Share According to who?given that they're probably not looking at grip. As long as it finishes the race, and has more grip than a crossmark or a small block 8 (also not a very high bar) then it'll be "highly recommended" Grey Hubs and EmptyB

I found the front gave way with out warning on the loose pack and mud... What is your experience with these tyres? They're the new Rubena tyres. They went through a re-brand last year, and are a headline sponsor for the UCI XCO World Cup.  Apparently they have a 100 day sidewall guarantee... Against cuts. So take this opportunity to test that and take it back.  The rear tyre is definitely for hardpack or sandy conditions, but it's a low volume tyre. Should have good longevity given the hard rubber compound they're using.  Kratos is dubbed as their Trail / Enduro tyre, but it largely depends on which compound & casing width you have as to what the grip characteristics are.  What compound is it? If it's the CRX then that's why... harder faster rolling compound. Edited February 16, 2017 by Myles Mayhew Grey Hubs
