OK, so this thread has just depressed me. I am a huge PYGA fan and, in anticipation of my lbs getting new frames have already started buying parts (wheels, full groupo, brakes and seat post). Trouble is the smallest frame is a medium and I be knee high to a dwarf, which really sucks. my lbs is building a medium to see what the fit is like (I am confortable on a Spez Camber medium but anything else small is better). Does anything know if a small frame is in the works? Would suck badly if I have to sell all the parts and settle for a Giant or a Merida. Can you believe that Santa Cruz also doesnt manufacture a small Tallboy (no pun intended). I really want one to pimp for myself!!

Anyway, nice bikes all you tall people.

Why not consider the Pyga 650b?

Posted

Why not go for the onetwenty 650b? You can then still use all your parts. If you're as small as you say I would think any 29er is not going to be an ideal fit.

get the 650b,

Have one and it's fantastic.

wow. Why so heavy? The reverb will add a bit but nothing else there implies the weight you're getting.

Weight is on electronic bathroom scale (Me+bike - Me = Bike), so accuracy could be an issue. Most of the parts are from my previous build so was not trying to cut on weight, rather on $. Also not really stressed about weight of bike, much cheaper to lose some gut than to buy Thompson cockpit! :D

I've tried the same to weight my bike, every time got a different weight, also gets impacted by how stable the scale is.

Got my build at 12.1KG. Would love to get a proper accurate weight, without pedal's since that is what everyone is weighting, also what extra's have you added, GoPro housing, Chainstay protector.

Nice. I love that colour. Are you going to cut your fork steerer down eventually or leave all the spacers there?

Posted

Will probably cut it, eventually, when I'm 100% sure about the sizing.

Yep I guess the bathroom scales will not be that accurate but should be within 0.5kg I would say. You're right, losing some gut is mostly overlooked as a way to drop the weight and as you say is far cheaper.
