Good morning all

 

Does anybody have an opinion regarding Mavic Crossmax SLR vs Easton EA90 XC wheels?

 

Would love to get some input

Not sure if those model of Mavics use the same freehub as the CrossRides, but I've had some issues with the freehub on mine (CrossRide). There is a bushing that wears out and causes a 'howling' noise when coasting. You just need to keep an eye on them and do regular maintenance (keep the insides clean and use special oil to keep it lubricated) to avoid that issue. Other than that I'm quite happy with my Mavics.

The Mavics are lighter I believe...

 

The weight difference is a couple grams between the Crossmax SLR's and the SL's. (26" size).

So I would recommend the SL's as they are alot cheaper.

 

On the other hand, EA90 XC's are super sexy...........

My son rides Easton EA90 on his 29er and the run effortlessly.He did have a few spoke problems at the back.He weighs 78kg and is 6'5"

 

I have Crossmax on my 26er FS and touch wood best wheels I have ever had.Strong!!I weigh 95kg

What can you get eastons for?

 

EA90

EA70 as well?

ea90 R4500 when the easton sale was on.

Just pull the trigger on some HAVENS :whistling: :lol:

Geez - he must quite a skinny oke to be that tall and weigh so little. I weigh 79kg and I'm 6'2". Now i feel overweight :whistling:
