This will be my 1st one. Hoping that it won't be to cruel to the legs.

This will be my first road race and I see the site says it is a new route. I just hope I didnt pick a nasty one to start with.

Agreed, SBR made the race! A change in route that I would have welcomed is if they removed the dirt road from the race!

Ditto, IMO with SBR this used to be the toughest Jhb race.

Only two sort off climbs, up walkerville hill (hope road works are finish) and up the back of bosco hill.

The wind will be the thing to watch.

no idea until i ride it. from the route map it (110km) almost looks like the reverse of the Ride4sight, or am i reading it incorrectly

Should it not start something like. Starting and finish at Rand Water board road. On to graval road, right on to R554 towards the Lido hotel????? Left up Walkerville hill

And yes we hope the road works will not effect the race.

Unfortunately not doing it this year. A pity they took the Suikerbos section out. It was difficult but made it something different. Now it is just another fairly flat funride in RSA.

 

I guess the figures will show they made a good bussiness choice though by removing the mountain from the race .

 

At least the Elites will do 150 km so they did take that part into account .

 

Enjoy for those taking part , I will be up in Gauteng a week later for meals on Weels
